Proud Like a Lion
September 16, 2016
Today we had an assembly about anti-bullying lead by the Detroit Lions mascot Rory! The children did a wonderful job staying seated and being good listeners. Here are a few pictures from the assembly:
Rory sat with some of the kindergarten students from Ms. Martin’s class!
Some of the children from the older grades were chosen as volunteers to help act out skits which involved social bullying, verbal bullying, and physical bullying. The children were able to watch the skits and talk with the referee about what they should do if they ever feel as though they are being bullied.
At the end of the assembly, my class was lucky enough to get to dance with Rory and give him high-fives! The children were very excited to meet Rory.
The Detroit Lions are offering discounted tickets to families who attend schools participating in their “STAND Proud Like a Lion” Program.
