Dear Families,

Welcome to Third Grade! My name is Mrs. Dillon and I am delighted to be your child’s teacher this year. I am very excited to be starting my sixth year of teaching. I taught kindergarten for two years in Las Vegas, Nevada and at Lowrey I have taught first and third grade. I am looking forward to teaching third grade again this year. Third grade is a wonderful year for children filled with lots of social, emotional, and academic growth. Your child will amaze you over the next 10 months!

I currently have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Central Michigan University where I majored in elementary education and language arts and a Master’s degree in English Second Language from University of Michigan-Dearborn. I cannot wait to get to know each of you and your children. Teaching is my passion. I enjoy what I do and I work hard to make every day count. I provide my students with an inviting, safe, and nurturing environment where students feel comfortable and valued.

I believe that communication between school and home is vital to your student’s success in school. If you ever have any questions or would like to contact me, feel free to email me. In addition, your child received an agenda the first day of school. This agenda is signed daily by me and should also be signed by you. Please check to make sure all homework is completed before signing. This is also a great place to write me a note if need be.

I’m looking forward to teaching your child and providing meaningful experiences to develop a lifelong love for learning. I truly want this school year be a positive experience. Open House is Wednesday, September 12^th from 6:00-7:30pm and I will be hosting a short parent meeting Thursday, August 30^th from 8:05-8:20am. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you. I am looking forward to a great year ☺
