SCHEDULE CHANGES AND GAME CANCELLATIONS:
Boys golf match scheduled for Monday, May 20th against Livonia Franklin at Idyl Wild GC has been postponed due to course conditions. No makeup date at this time.
V BB/SB and JV SB games scheduled for Thursday, May 9th against Livonia Clarenceville have been canceled due to a scheduling conflict. No makeup dates at this time.
Girls JV tennis match scheduled for Thursday, May 9th against Divine Child has been rained out. Makeup date TBA.
Boys golf match scheduled for Wednesday, May 8th against Belleville at Willow Metropark has been postponed and will be made up on Wednesday, May 15th back at Willow Metropark at 3:00 PM.
Girls JV/V tennis matches scheduled for Tuesday, May 7th at Salem have been rained out. No makeup date at this time.
JV Softball doubleheader scheduled for Tuesday, May 7th at Wyandotte has been rained out. No makeup date at this time.
V BB/SB games against Wayne Memorial that were suspended due to rain on Monday, May 6th will be completed as part at a doubleheader at DHS on Wednesday, May 8th starting at 4:00 PM. We’ll begin with the resumption of the suspended game.
JV Baseball/Softball games scheduled for Friday, May 3rd against Brighton have been postponed due to unplayable field conditions. Makeup date TBA.

Makeup date for V softball will be a doubleheader on Tuesday, May 14th at 3:30 PM at DHS.
Boys Golf match scheduled for Tuesday, April 30th against Livonia Churchill has been moved from Warren Valley Golf Course to Gateway Golf Course. Tee time 3:00 PM.
Girls JV Tennis match scheduled for Monday, April 29th against Allen Park has been rained out. Makeup date TBA.
JV/V Baseball/Softball games scheduled for Monday, April 29th against Livonia Stevenson have been rained out. Makeup date will be Wednesday, May 1st as doubleheaders (varsity at DHS, JV at Stevenson) with a 4:00 PM start time.

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT NEWS AND NOTES
At the MHSAA Regional on Friday, May 17th, Bryttan Barkoff broke the school record in the 300 hurdles with a time of 46.82 seconds. She placed second at the regional, earning at trip to the MHSAA D1 State Finals on June 1st at East Kentwood HS.
At the MHSAA Regional on Thursday, May 16th, the girls varsity tennis team earned 19 points to finish 2nd and earn their second consecutive trip to the MHSAA Division 1 State Finals in Midland May 31-June 1.
The varsity baseball team improved to 7-15 overall and 5-9 KLAA East with a 7-4 win at Livonia Franklin on Wednesday, May 15th. Ahmad Harajli got the win on the mound and Ben Clark (3-4) and Adriano Murillo (2-3, 2 doubles) led the offense for DHS. Congratulations to Coach Jenks and the varsity baseball team!
The boys golf team swept a tri-match at Willow Metropark on Wednesday, May 15th, defeating Fordson 181-225 and Belleville 181-230 to improve to 2-2 KLAA East. Paul Washington (39), Tommy Fawaz (46), Braeden Furlow (48), and Brecken Furlow (48) scored for the Pioneers. Congratulations to Coach Barkoff and the boys golf team!
The girls JV tennis team finished up the season at 9-1-0 after and 8-0 win at Ypsilanti Lincoln on Wednesday, May 15th. Casiana Miller/Batoul Saad had an 8-0 win at #1 doubles for the Pioneers. Congratulations to Coach Walters and the girls JV tennis team!
The girls varsity soccer team improved to 13-2-3 overall and 11-0-2 KLAA East with a 7-0 home win over Westland John Glenn on Tuesday, May 14th. Isabelle Karkaba (3), Serena Faraj, Yasmine Abadi, Grace Boettger, and Mia Sandoval scored for the Pioneers. Congratulations to Coach Pfeil and the girls varsity soccer team!
The girls JV soccer team is now 14-4-1 overall after a 9-1 home win over Westland John Glenn on Tuesday, May 14th. Sariah Abdou (3), Erin Moran (2), Dena Hammoud, Fatme Khalil, Ashley Irick, and Mya Hamood all netted goals for DHS. Congratulations to Coach Strutz and the girls JV soccer team!
The girls varsity tennis team improved to 8-1-2 overall with an 8-1 win over Riverview Gabriel Richard on Monday, May 13th. The doubles teams of Megan Hadley/Mariam Beydoun (#1, 6-1, 6-1) and Briana Drazek/Aya Siblani (#3, 6-1, 6-2) each posted quality wins for DHS. The boys and girls track teams attended the Metro Classic at Wyandotte High School on Saturday, May 11th and results saw the boys finish in 14th place overall and the girls finish in 6th place overall. Individual scorers for the Pioneers were:

At the KLAA Conference Championship Track Meet on Friday, May 10th, three Pioneer relays earned points for DHS. The boys 4×200 relay (Richard Lalaj, Mohsen Chaaban, Ramee Charara, and Afif Jawad) and the girls 4×200 relay (Bryttan Barkoff, Emma Obermiller, Jayshona Boxx, and Erin Moran) both placed 7th while the girls 4×100 relay (Jenna Achkar, Maya Taha, Jayshona Boxx, and Donaja Copeland) placed 8th.
The girls varsity soccer team traveled to Belleville on Thursday, May 9th and came home with a 4-1 victory. Isabelle Karkaba (2), Serena Faraj, and Yasmine Abadi scored for the Pioneers (12-2-2, 10-0-2 KLAA East). Congratulations to Coach Pfeil and the girls varsity soccer team!

The JV baseball team moved to 7-5-1 on the season with a 3-1 road win at Wayne Memorial on Wednesday, May 8th. Adnan Rammouni tossed a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts for the Pioneers. Congratulations to Coach Schmizzi and the JV baseball team!
The varsity baseball team is now 6-11 overall and 4-6 KLAA East after splitting a doubleheader with Wayne Memorial on Wednesday, May 8th. The Pioneers won game #1 12-7 and lost game #2 6-2. Marco Murillo got the win on the mound in game #1 and Ben Clark (5-5, 3 triples) and Ryan Schafranek (4-4, 2 doubles and a triple) led the offense. Congratulations to Coach Jenks and the varsity baseball team!
The varsity softball team swept a doubleheader with Wayne Memorial on Wednesday, May 8th by scores of 16-7 and 10-0. Bess Grantham and Lily Grantham picked up wins on the mound and Kyleigh Jeannin (grand slam) and Jadyn Lock (4 runs scored) led the offense for the Pioneers (10-8, 6-4 KLAA East). Congratulations to Coach Hamel and the varsity softball team!
The girls varsity soccer team is now 11-2-2 overall and 9-0-2 KLAA East after a 5-0 home win over Livonia Churchill on Tuesday, May 7th. Isabelle Karkaba (2), Yasmine Abadi, Rena Arabi, and Lila Mozham scored for the Pioneers and Hayley Lindow was in goal with the “clean sheet.” Congratulations to Coach Pfeil and the girls varsity soccer team!

In addition to meeting all eligibility requirements from the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA), students in the Dearborn Public Schools are required to maintain a 2.000 Grade Point Average (GPA) to remain eligible to participate in athletics. High school grades are checked approximately every six weeks — eligibility is determined at these checkpoints. Information on MHSAA eligibility requirements can be found at www.mhsaa.com.
