Today we began our writing portfolio reflection sheets. This is something we will be continually updating until the end of the school year as a reflection on our progress in class. I will be meeting individually with each student to discuss their current NWEA and writing assessments beginning this week. We also peer edited our personal narrative rough drafts and began our final copies with our partner’s input. Final copies are due no later than Wednesday!

Today we took the Unit 3 Vocabulary and Grammar test. When finished, students had the remainder of class to finish their projects, One-Pagers, or any missing assignments they needed to turn in. The end of the card marking is Friday, no assignments will be accepted past this date!

Figurative language projects are due at the BEGINNING of class tomorrow so we can present them to the class!

NWEA testing will begin Friday and continue through next week. Please ensure you get enough rest and eat breakfast/lunch so you can work at your fullest potential!

Friday and Monday are Half Days – the day ends at 11:05am.

Today we went to the library and practiced creating prepositional phrases. We spent the remaining time working on our Figurative Language Projects or studying for tomorrow’s test.

We also went through our ISN’s to make sure we were prepared for tomorrow’s ISN collection.

ISN’s will be collected for grading on Wednesday January 24th. Make sure your table of contents is up to date and you don’t have missing notes!

Unit 3 Vocabulary/Grammar test is also Wednesday. Practice is on Google Classroom and Quizlet. Study figurative language definitions and application, interjections, adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, pronouns, and preposition application. Know the different types from your notes!

Today we took notes on our final part of speech: prepositions. We also discussed “The Jacket” and the figurative language found within the story. We ended class with a review game to help study for Monday’s test!   Feel free to use the review game on Google Classroom to help you study this weekend!
