Today we took notes on our final part of speech: prepositions. We also discussed “The Jacket” and the figurative language found within the story. We ended class with a review game to help study for Monday’s test! Block 3 did not have time to check their answers for their Figurative Language Practice page in their ISN so the answers are posted below! Feel free to use the review game on Google Classroom to help you study this weekend!
Enjoy your weekend!
Unit 2 Comprehension Test is on Monday, January 22nd! This will be open book (NOT open note!) about the stories “All Summer in a Day” and “The Jacket”. It will also contain application of identifying and labeling figurative language in a story. Review prior concepts learned in class as well (point of view, pyramid of action, types of conflict, genre, mood/tone, story devices, story vocabulary).
ISN’s will be collected for grading on Wednesday January 24th. Make sure your table of contents is up to date and you don’t have missing notes!
Unit 3 Vocabulary/Grammar test is also Wednesday. Practice on on Google Classroom and Quizlet. Study figurative language definitions and application, adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, pronouns, and preposition application. Know the different types from your notes!
- 60 minutes reading chapter book (over the course of the week!) – I am meeting with ALL groups to discuss what book you are reading at home this week and next week!
