Fri./Mon. Synchronous Time

We went over the expectations for IXL, which will be part of our Asynchronous assignments starting next week. Students must earn 90 points for full credit. If they earn less, they will receive what they earn (57 points = 5.7 points in grade book, ext.)

We began NWEA Reading as well. THERE WILL BE MANY TECH ISSUES. I will do my best to help you troubleshoot from afar but we need to be patient. Please have a backup device handy if you are able to!

Fri./Mon. Asynchronous Work

  1. ReadTheory (5 quizzes)– log onto ReadTheory and finish the pretest so you can start your homework quizzes – 5 quizzes due Friday @ 3:10pm
  2. IXL – KK#1 – 90 points for full credit due by Friday @ 3:10pm (You will receive your username and password in your student email from me – please check on Monday that you received it)
  3. Summer Learning Book Talk Google Slide Presentation – due Friday by 3:10pm – all students must complete this, even students new to district. If you haven’t read a book over the summer you need to start reading a chapter book now. No graphic novels.
  4. Newsela article annotations (need 10 total) if you didn’t finish in class

This week’s schedule break down

  • Monday – B day (students have Peterson)
  • Tuesday – A day (students have Jones)
  • Wednesday – B day (students have Jones)
  • Thursday – A day (students have Peterson)
  • Friday – B day (students have Peterson)

Your Zoom sessions are set up in your teachers’ Schoology courses. Should you have any Tech issues during Synchronous time (AM), you need to contact the Dearborn Technology Department 313-827-8400. Shutting down your computer (closing the Chromebook or computer is NOT shutting it down) or making sure you are completely logged out of all other Google accounts on the device you are using fixes most issues.
