End of the Marking Period
It’s come so quickly, but it’s actually here. Friday is the last day of the marking period. Report cards and progress reports will be handed out at conferences on November 11th and 13th.
With the last week of the marking period here, all missing work is due by Wednesday. Students will have a social studies quiz tomorrow and a science test on Wednesday. They have been and will continue to prepare for these.
Wednesday is also our October PBIS Movie reward. We will be watching Hocus Pocus or Corpse Bride. The students will pick. Only students with 1 full pride card turned in by today (10/28) and a signed movie permission slip will be able to participate.
Friday is supposed to be our walking field trip to McDonalds. The weather forecast isn’t looking promising. We will make a decision closer to it. We will either do an alternate lunch, save for another day, or return money with a note to the students to bring home.

Please look for two separate permission slips to come home in the next week.
Kona Ice Truck
We have an exciting fundraiser on Thursday during the school day. During social studies, we will be able to go outside and purchase snow cones. A small snow cone is $2 and a large is $5. The PTA is sponsoring the event. Money from the proceeds will go back to help the school with events for all the students.
Hope to see everyone getting a snow cone!!
October Has Arrived
I can’t believe that tomorrow (Tuesday) is the first day of October. September has flown by. Students tested last week in science on Herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. They should be bringing home their tests early this week. They will test later this week on fractions in math. Next week we will begin our new unit on multiplication and division. As students begin to learn the basic skills for multiplication and division, they will also begin to apply these skills into story problems and real world examples. We are beginning to talk about inferences in language arts which is a newer topic and sometimes difficult topic.
Planners have arrived so students should be bringing them to and from school daily. We worked last week on their My Learning Plan and discussed goals for their language arts and math areas based on their NWEA scores. Take a moment at home this week to ask them what their goals are. We will review these goals and help them work towards them for their winter NWEA testing.
