October Has Arrived
I can’t believe that tomorrow (Tuesday) is the first day of October. September has flown by. Students tested last week in science on Herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. They should be bringing home their tests early this week. They will test later this week on fractions in math. Next week we will begin our new unit on multiplication and division. As students begin to learn the basic skills for multiplication and division, they will also begin to apply these skills into story problems and real world examples. We are beginning to talk about inferences in language arts which is a newer topic and sometimes difficult topic.
Planners have arrived so students should be bringing them to and from school daily. We worked last week on their My Learning Plan and discussed goals for their language arts and math areas based on their NWEA scores. Take a moment at home this week to ask them what their goals are. We will review these goals and help them work towards them for their winter NWEA testing.
