Good morning Families,

The students took home a family letter for Everyday Math last night. They also taped a username and password on the inside cover of their planners. This username and password are for the students to go on the Everyday Math website daily. It is an excellent way for the students to reinforce the lessons that were taught and to play games. Each student is expected to go on this site for 20 minutes a day.

I attached the link to my blog.

Here it is as well.

If you have any questions, please feel free to write a note in the planner or email me at curried@dearbornschools.org

Thank you.

Good evening families,

I hope everyone had a nice day off yesterday. A couple reminders:

1. Tomorrow the students will have a math assessment.

2. Students need to begin their BOOK-IT project for November.  It is due on the 22nd.

3. Conference Notes went home tonight, please be sure to return these as soon as possible. It is very crucial that every parent attends conferences. I will be handing out report cards and discussing your child’s progress thus far.

4. Please continue to be filling out the DTE Energy back page of the booklets. I hope you all are enjoying the wonderful kits!

5. NO COMPUTATION TESTS THIS WEEK!

Have a wonderful evening!

Good afternoon families,

I just wanted to touch base with you on a couple things:

1. Tomorrow your child will be having a multiplication timed test.

2. Also, tomorrow is Halloween, the students may dress in the “Halloween Spirit” which means in orange and/or black! NO COSTUMES!

3. Students may bring in candy to pass to their peers.

4. We will be doing a small party the last hour of the day.  Keeping the environment as mellow as possible.

5. Please make sure to sign and return your child’s spelling test. I attached a brief note to it as well.

Have a wonderful afternoon.

Warmly,

Mrs. Currie

Good evening families,

Just wanted to inform all of you that the students received another website to practice on. It’s called Scootpad. They received all the information during Enrichment today. Please make sure they are on this website daily. It’s excellent practice for math and reading.

Also, have them continue to practice on X-tra Math. Please make sure you follow the directions on the form I sent home.

If you have any questions, please let me know! Have a wonderful weekend.

Warmly,
Mrs. Currie

Good Afternoon Families,

I just wanted to send a note to congratulate your child on all their hard-work during the MEAP test!! They all did their very best! Please make sure to tell them of what a great job they did!

I am sending  home the parent letter to enroll your child in X-tra Math. It has their Enrollment code as well. X-tra MAth is very effective tool to help increase your child’s computation skills! I expect ALL students to memorize their addition/subtraction and multiplication/division facts! I also expect each child to practice X-tra Math and/or flashcards for 15-30 minutes daily. I will begin to give them timed tests starting next week!!
If you have any questions, please feel free to comment on here, or write a note in your child’s planner.

Have a wonderful evening!

Regards,
Mrs. Currie

2. Get plenty of rest tonight.

3. To be prompt to school and ready for the test.

4. Take their time on the test and to re-read!

Thank you again for your support!!

Good Afternoon Families,

I wanted to inform all of you that starting tomorrow there will be no water bottles allowed in class. This will be the procedure for the next couple weeks. The students may still bring a water bottle to use during lunch, but it MUST stay in their lockers. Due to the MEAP test coming up, we are practicing the procedure of no water bottles allowed during that time.

So, again starting tomorrow-Students may NOT bring their water bottles into the classroom.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this matter.

Tomorrow there is a bake sale after school!!

Have a wonderful afternoon!
