Good afternoon families,

Here are a couple reminders:

1. The SRI book lists need to be completed and turned in by Jan.31st. Please have your child highlight the books as they are read. Also, if you could not find the book on the list-please write in another title. A parent signature at the bottom of the sheet is required as well.

2. Science~ The students will continue to work on their research projects. The homework for tonight is to finish movement and adaptation paragraphs!

3. Math~ The students have an activity sheet. Also, starting on Tuesday-we will continue timed multiplication tests!

4. Xtra Math~ Many students have mentioned they have lost their pin numbers. I taped the pins on the inside cover of their planners.  Please use X-tra Math daily.

5. Spelling~ There is a test Friday! Date Change: Activities are due on or before 1-22-14. The activities sheet will go home tomorrow.

Parent meeting in the cafeteria is TOMORROW at 9:00 a.m. Please try and attend.  These meetings contain very important information regarding the students of Maples school!!

Good Afternoon Families,

1. Students will be taking the District Writing Prompt starting tomorrow.

2. Book-It. I am sending home a January, BOOK-IT.   It is due January 31st!

3. Spelling- Here is the list of spelling words for the week. Tests are always on Friday!

Please note- there are proper nouns this week. Make sure your child remembers the spelling rule. Spelling is a process, therefore the students must spell the core words correctly and know the spelling rule!!!

Good afternoon families,

We had such a great day today! The sing-along was fun!!!

The reminders for tomorrow are:

1.  There  is a spelling test tomorrow.

2. Unit 3-Math Assessment. The student’s have a study guide to complete. We also reviewed today in class.

3. Santa Shop- We will be going at 1:00 p.m.

4. The students are very excited for the puzzle exchange.

I am sending home the winter break homework practice sheet tonight. Tomorrow, on the Maples School blog the sheets by grade level will be posted in case your child loses theirs. These are due on Monday, January 5, 2014.

2. Tuesday, December 17th-Spelling Activities due.

3. Wednesday, December 18th- Last day to turn in puzzles for the Puzzle Exchange.

4. Thursday, December 19th-December, BOOK-IT BINGO DUE.

5. Thursday, December 19th- All School Sing-Along 2:00 p.m. in the gym.

6. Friday, December 20th- Library check out.

7. Friday, December 20th- UNIT 3-MATH ASSESSMENT & Spelling Test.

8. Friday, December 20th-Santa Shop at 1:00 p.m.

We will be quite busy this week. Please read your child’s planner daily. I will also be updating the blog often!

Good Morning Families,

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

This week at a glance:

1. Spelling Activities due tomorrow December 10th!!! This is so important, please make sure they are completed.

2. NO COMPUTATION TESTS THIS WEEK!!

Please congratulate your child! They have been doing extremely well on their timed multiplication tests! Their hard work is paying off! Let’s continue this!

They will have computation tests next week. We are taking a short break this week.

3. BOOK-IT..Due Thursday, December 19th.

4. Puzzle Exchange- Look in your child’s school notes folder tonight. A short note will be coming home explaining this.
