Today is Wednesday, March 26th.
Friendly reminders:
1. Social Studies~ Tomorrow and Friday is our Unit 6 multiple choice social studies assessment. It will be given on the computer. The students will be taking home a study guide with all the essential items to study for tonight. I know they will do wonderful!
2. Spelling~ Test Friday!
Tomorrow night I will be sending home your child’s report card. Please sign and return the envelope only. Those parents whom I will be meeting with for conferences, will be given the report card then. We will discuss the report card during this time as well.
Friday~ This is our read-in day!!! Please note that if your child chooses to come to school in their pajamas, they will have to stay in them all day! I encourage the students to just dress more casually that day, since we do have gym that afternoon as well.
We will have business as usual most of the morning then begin the read in prior to lunch and continue it after.
Pizza Sale Friday after school!!!
SAVE THE DATE!! All fourth graders will be having a free field trip to the DIA (Detroit Institute of Arts), Wednesday, April 9th!!! I will need at least 4-5 chaperones. More details to come!! This field trip was arranged by our lovely art teacher Ms. Briggs!

Here are a couple reminders for tonight an the next couple days….
Math~ Unit 5 test needs to be signed and returned tomorrow. Those students whom I will be meeting with parents next week, I am keeping their assessment. I did show them their grade though.

Science~ Study and review student activity packet- Test tomorrow!!!
Social Studies~ Adult surveys. I am asking the students to survey/interview two adults by Friday. They were given the sheet to document their answers!!! These surveys are aligned with our social studies unit Rights and Responsibilities of Citizens. Once again, this is due Friday, March 21st!!!!
Book Fair~ Friday, March 21st! We will be going in the afternoon. Only students who bring money to school may go!!!
TONIGHT IS MAPLES FAMILY LITERACY NIGHT! COME JOIN THE FUN FROM 5:30-7:00 P.M. I WILL BE WORKING THE BOOKMARK ROOM!

Next Week:
Wednesday, March 19th is Maples Literacy Night from 5:30-7:00 p.m. I look forward to seeing all of you there! It is such a fun family event!
Friday, March 21st the 4th graders will be given an opportunity to go to the Scholastic Book Fair to purchase books! We will be going in the afternoon. Please send the money with your child in the morning!!!
Math~ We will begin Unit 6! Please make sure your child continues to practice their basic multiplication/division facts daily! A family letter is being sent home tonight!
Literacy~ Homework- Your child needs to be reading every night for 30-45 minutes!
Also, in the outside pocket of their School Notes folder each child will have a line graph that states “My Personal Reading Goal” This shows your child’s current reading level. Please congratulate them on how much they have improved from fall to winter!!! Let’s keep moving up!!!

Good afternoon families,
Math~ Unit 5 math assessment is Wednesday 12th! The study guide will be sent home tomorrow.
Spelling~
Due to WIDA testing last week, I have extended spelling. The test is this Friday the 14th! Activities are due tomorrow, March 11th.
Reading~
MSLIP please remind your children they are to be rereading their MSLIP chapter every night for at least 30-45 minutes!!! This is so very important. Often times, students will have questions to do as well!!!
BOOK-IT~ Please continue to work on this. It is due on Friday, March 21st.
Late Start Wednesday, March 12th!!

Wednesday is our field trip to the Performing Arts Center to watch the Dearborn Symphony. Please remind your child of appropriate behavior and to dress fancier that day. I discourage sweats and sweatshirts. This is one of my favorite field experiences!!! We are going to have a wonderful time!

Good morning,
I just wanted to thank all of you for making Valentine’s Day extra special! We had a nice mellow party!
Mid-Winter homework- The students were given daily activities to do in their spiral notebooks. A part of this is to watch the Olympics and study an event/athlete. The Olympics are on NBC, and the CBC. During the day it’s live then replayed at night.
The students also have their Book-It Bingo. It’s their last one and due early March.
