I wanted to thank you all for the beautiful presents! So unnecessary but greatly appreciated!
A couple reminders for your child during the break!

1. Winter packets are being sent home, please have your child complete it and make sure to have aparent signature. They are due Monday, January 4th.

2. All students are to go on My On daily for 30 minutes. We are having a contest with the other 5th grade classrooms. The class that reads the MOST minutes will receive a special surprise!!! Please encourage your child to participate as I expect our class to win!!

3. Students are to go on Moby Max daily as well.

Today is Tuesday, December 1, 2015.

Good morning families~

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving break! I can’t believe it is already December 1st!

Here is a glance at the week ahead!

Field Trip Friday December 4th. 

Please remember-Students MUST dress for the weather as we will be walking. Comfortable shoes and appropriate jackets. 

Also, they MUST bring a bagged disposable lunch. NO GLASS BOTTLES AND NO POP ARE ALLOWED!!! Please let me know if you have any questions. We look forward to a fun-filled educational day! 

Spelling:

The students received their words for the week. There is a test Friday and Word Work is also due.

Math:

We took our math assessment on long division today and will begin adding with decimals tomorrow.

Social Studies:

We will start our new unit on LIFE IN THE COLONIES! Students will be doing a Project throughout this unit.

Science:

Students will continue their Solar System projects with Mrs. Stage.

Writing:

We will be wrapping up our opinion piece on Dodge Ball.

Today is Monday, November 2, 2015.

This SHORT week at a glance….

Tomorrow there is NO school due to Election Day!!!

Teachers will be having Professional Development all day.

1/2 Day Friday, November 6th!!! 11:45 a.m. dismissal.

Conference notes were sent home today for those attending on Thursday, November 12th!!! Please return, if you received one-thank you!

Math~ The students will be having a Multiplication assessment on multi-digit numbers using standard algorithms. Assessment is Friday, November 6th.

Social Studies Quiz~ Wednesday, November 4th on Push and Pull factors.

Science Vocabulary Quiz~ Wednesday, November 4th.

Writing~ The students have been studying Colonization in Social Studies. They are just beginning their personal narratives on life in Jamestown!!!

Spelling~ NO spelling this week!!

Happy Friday Families!

Today the student’s will be having their weekly word study (spelling) test!

We will be taking the last hour of the day in having a mini-Halloween celebration.

All students are welcome to dress up in costume, as I mentioned in the letter that was sent home this week. Below are a couple reminders:

Please make sure to monitor your child’s costume attire!
