Spelling-
I wanted to send a note to clarify some questions in regards to spelling…
I only give a small amount of time for students to work on Spelling activities in class. Most of it needs to be done at home…
Students are to log in to I-Learn from the Dearborn Schools home page. Once they are logged in-they need to go to My Courses-a scroll down will appear and they will either click on 4th or 5th grade spelling.
Please let me know if any issues arise or if you do not have technology for your child to use at home. I can accommodate both.
Have a great rest of the evening.
Best,
Mrs. Currie

Spelling has BEGUN!!!
Students started their weekly spelling activities and projects today. They will be completing this through I-learn. Please ask them about this.
Every Monday, students will be given their list found on Ilearn and will begin their activities and projects.
Activities & projects are due on Friday.
Their test will be given every Friday as well.
Students are to copy their spelling words on a separate sheet of paper and will keep it in their school notes folder.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Good afternoon families,
Happy Fall even though it feels like summer!!!
This week at a glance 9/25-9/29
A couple reminders:
Picture Day-9/28/17
PTA raffle tickets, please continue selling!
ELA~ Students will write their strategies on the Cafe Board. The plan is to begin book clubs this week.
Writing-Students will type their personal narratives. We will work on writing a strong conclusion this week.
Spelling- This will be done differently than in past practices. I will use the district pacing guide and word choice. Students will be completing all activities and using it more in terms of a vocabulary study through Ilearn. Mrs. Gwidz the district’s tech coach, has been helping me with this. More info will be sent home soon….
Social Studies~ We attempted the district’s online assessment on Friday, but came across a technology glitch. I gave the students the paper pencil version. Tomorrow hopefully all the glitches will be fixed, so the students can in put their answers online. They all technically had this weekend to look over their notes and study guides one more time…:)
Science~ 4th & 5 th grades will begin their science units on Tuesday!!
Math~ Both grades will continue working on their units. The students did an amazing job on their Math About Me posters!
** Make sure to ask your child about their e-portfolios!** We still have plenty of work to do with these. I am looking forward to continue this process.
Have a great rest of your Sunday!
Go Lions!
