This week at a glance….9/24-9/28
Good afternoon families~
I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful fall weekend! Here’s a look ahead.
ELA~
Our book study- Auggie & Me will officially begin this week. I will be meeting with groups and creating norms as to how each group should look and sound like. Students will declare their reading goals on our Cafe board too.
Spelling~ Week #3.
Writing~ We will continue Narrative writing with our topic-Roller Coasters. We will look at how to add details and examples to our narratives, by using our five senses.
Math~ 4th- Cont. lesson 7 tomorrow. Lesson 8 & 9.
5th~ Continue the mid-module review tomorrow. Tuesday, 9/25- Mid-Module Assessment. Students will need to use their review, problem sets, and exit slips to help prepare for the Mid-Module Assessment. The rest of the week, we will complete lesson 9 & 10.
*ALL students need to complete any incomplete sprints at home, as this will help sharpen their mental math skills.*
Zearn.org is another great practice tool!
Science~ We completed one mystery last week as a whole class. Each grade will complete their own mystery this week. I am excited to do this, as it’s always fun doing experiments!
Social Studies~ Continue government unit.
LEADER IN ME~ We will finish up Habit 1- Being Proactive this week. Students will work on the differences of a growth and fixed mindset. We will discuss how a Growth Mindset is one to live by. We will also look at our NWEA scores and create goals for winter testing.
Happy Friday!!
Good evening families~
Just wanted to touch base on a couple items.
The math homework is for your child to go on zearn.org this weekend! We’ve been using it in class and the students really love it! It is aligned with the Eureka Math.
If you haven’t already please have your child bring in earbuds or headphones, as we use these often. Thanks in advance!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Mrs. Currie
