Live from Lindbergh, Its Saturday Night!!!
Welcome back for another Road Rally! This year’s theme is Saturday Night Live and will be held on Saturday, November 3rd! We will meet in the teacher parking lot at school at 6pm! While not an official PTA event, this is a fun night for Lindbergh parents, teachers, and friends!
This is a exciting scavenger hunt through Dearborn! Start planning your costumes now! Cost is $10 per team member. Team Name and money can he turned into the mailbox of 140 South Martha. You can also hand it to Emily Blumenstein, Sonia Goff, or Erin Andrews! Teams can include as many members as legally allowed for the vehicle! Please have all envelopes turned in by October 29th!
Haunted School is
Friday, October 19th from 6:30-8:30 PM!

Coming home~ DTE ENERGY KITS & Home Energy Worksheet. Please complete the home energy worksheet by tomorrow 10/9/18.

October Reading Logs~ Due- November 1st.
This month the students will complete an at home Book Project!!! Please see attachment. I sent the hard copy home as well! Just let me know if you have any questions. This Cereal book project is due November 12th!!! Have your child use Habit #2 Begin with the End in Mind, when completing this project! As November 12th will sneak up on all of us…:)

4th- Parents please review and sign your child’s Mid-Module Assessment. Students are to return these tomorrow! All students did an outstanding job on this!! Make sure to wish them a congratulations!

Math~
4th~ Mid-Module Assessment-Monday 10/8/18
5th~ Module 1 Assessment Wednesday or Thursday this week. The last lesson in this module is dividing decimals.
Science~
4th~ Mystery- Could you knock down a building using dominoes?
5th~ Mystery-What do fireworks, rubber, and silly putty have in common?
ELA~
Writing~ Wrapping up our first 5 paragraph narrative essay!!!!
Reading~ Group work with Auggie & Me. Questions will be sent for homework this week.
Students will be turning in their reading logs tomorrow 10/8/18. They will be receiving another one for the month of October. I will check the reading responses in their RRJ at school. They do NOT have to tear out the sheets.
Spelling~ Week #5
Social Studies~
5th- Unit 1- Three Worlds Meet. Students will receive their Government unit results this week.
4th- Finishing the government unit. Next unit is U.S. & Spatial Terms.
Leader In Me- 7 Habits
Students will continue to study Habit 1- Being Proactive! Ask your child what is the difference between reactive and proactive language?? What is the importance of using the 7 Habits Language?

Social Studies-

Math-
4th- Lesson 10 Homework
Mid- Module Assessment-Monday 10/8/18. Review will be sent home tomorrow.
5th-Lesson 11 Homework #1-3
#4 Challenge.
Spelling- Test tomorrow. Projects and Activities are due as well.
DTE energy will be presenting to my whole class on Monday. Being that your child is in a split, both grades may participate. That means 5th graders have an opportunity to do this again. Tonight a blue note was sent home to the 5th grade. Only return this, if you choose to OPT out.

Tuesday, October 2nd, in the cafeteria at 4 PM!
We will be discussing this month’s events. We will also start having a short “Leader in Me” educational presentation in our upcoming meetings! This is an excellent way to truly understand the “Leader in Me” program our students are taught, and will help us achieve a sought-after Lighthouse School Status.
As an incentive to boost attendance, we will raffle off a $10 gift card at every meeting this school year. AND for any 2–yes,2!–individuals who attend every meeting from October through June, you will be entered into a Raffle to win a $50 cash prize!

This year’s theme is “Saturday Night Live”!Saturday, November 3rd, 6 PM, Lindbergh parking lot
While not an official PTA-event, this has been a fun annual event for Lindbergh parents, teachers, and friends for some years (adults only!). Teams will participate in tasks or activities at each stop in order to receive clues to the next location. Start planning your costume now! Please mention team name as soon as you can. Please label an envelope with “Road Rally” and put your team name, members, and $10 per member inside. Place the envelope in the mailbox of 140 South Martha, the PTA mailbox, or you can hand it to Emily Blumenstein, Sonia Goff, or Erin Andrews. Teams can include as many members as legally allowed for the vehicle.
Please have all envelopes turned in by Monday, October 29th.

**Deadline is TODAY!**
It’s Box Tops collection time again!
Lindbergh Elementary is once again collecting Box Tops to earn money for our school! Simply glue the coupons on the attached sheet that comes home with your child and return them to school by
Monday, September 24th. You can also submit them in groups of 50 in plastic baggies. Watch for a letter going home with students this week.
The classroom that collects the most Box Tops will win a special surprise!
