Today, NWEA Math- Please make sure your child is present, arrives on time and has a hearty breakfast!!! Please also remind your child to take to their time…I know they all will do amazing! Reading NWEA was already a success for them!

4th- Social Studies Human Geography Assessment.

Dear families~

I hope this finds everyone well. Here is this upcoming week at a glance.

ELA~

Reading- We voted and our next book study will be Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. I plan on purchasing a class set this week. We will begin this book the week of 1/21.

Book of the month-Board Game due Feb. 4th.

Writing~ Focus- Non-fiction writing.

Spelling~ Week 14.

Math~
NWEA Wednesday- 1/16.

4th- WIll begin Topic E- Read attached doc.

g4-m3-E vfinal newsletter

5th- Will continue Topic B. Read attached doc.

Expect a mid-module assessment the week of 1/21!

G5-M3-B final

Social Studies~

4th- Human Geography Assessment- Wednesday, 1/16/19.

5th- Life in the Colonies- Tentative assessment Friday the 18th.

Both grades are continuing work on their travel brochures. The assignment is posted in Google Classroom.

Science~
Both grades-Academic quiz- Friday the 18th.

Leader in Me- 7 Habits.

All family snowflakes should be turned in by this week!

Habit 3- Put first things First.

As we begin the New Year, we are reflecting and creating new goals for 2019. Here are some things the students and I will discuss.

Future skills that can be learned by putting first things first:
1 Demonstrate time management skills
2 Cultivate a strong work ethic, flexibility and adaptability
4 Be accountable and responsible for actions and results

Mid-Week Update 1/9/19

Good afternoon~

Very important tomorrow is NWEA Reading. Please make sure your child is well rested, eats a hearty breakfast and arrives to school on time. Also, please encourage them to take their time. Thank you for your help with this.

Native American in school, field experience. Please continue to send in $6 and the permission slip! Thank you to those who have already returned these items.

Dear Lindbergh Flyers Family,

I am very excited to kickoff our Kids Heart Challenge (formerly Jump Rope for Heart).  Information about the event will be passed out to students this week regarding ways to support the American Heart Association (non-profit) with a wonderful fundraiser opportunity to give back and provide assistance for lifesaving research.  Additionally, a one page flyer will also be distributed in Arabic for our families regarding the event. Hi all~

Just wanted to give you a mid-week update.

I hope everyone is surviving this week.

4th Math-Lesson 9 homework.

5th Math- Students were feeling successful and wanted to start the assessment today. So we tackled that and will continue tomorrow morning.

5th SS Assessment will be Friday morning.

Tomorrow is our Holiday Party from 2-3! Don’t forget Secret Santa too!

Continue collecting for the Community Service Projects.

Mr. Harvey’s Fitness Calendar is due the first week after break.

Work on the January fitness calendar during break as well.

Santa Shop Help Needed….

Santa Shop is a secret holiday shopping experience for our kids to shop for Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, Grandma, Grandpa, Teacher, Dog, Cat, etc.  Each item is $2.

Students can shop:
Tuesday, December 11th, 9-11:30 AM and 1-3:35 PM
Wednesday, December 12th, 9-11:30 AM and 1-3:35 PM
Thursday, December 13th, 9 AM-1 PM

We need helpers for set up, tear down, shopping assistance, and register.  We have 20 spots to fill, so please consider volunteering for a shift or two!
