Good Morning!

Today is the last day of card marking 2 and semester 1! As I have been reminding students all week if they will not be here to please let me know and turn in their bellwork and connections and question ins, and if they happen to not be here, bellwork and connection/questions will need to be turned in to me on Tuesday by 8am. I will be closing grades off at that time and no work will be accepted. Thank you.

Today in class, we will begin the hour by watching a clip  on Martin Luther King Jr. We will then have a work day to finish up various assignments! (5WR Connections and Questions, 5WR Writing Prompts, I Have A Dream, Reading Islam and underlining Main Ideas, 5WR Double Sided Cornell Notes).

Homework:  1. “I Have A Dream” due Tuesday! 2. 5WR Writing Prompts 1-4 Completed! 3. Double Sided Cornell Notes completed through Christianity! Everything done besides the Islam and the Summary! 4. Read Islam! 5. If you wont be here let me know!

Good Morning and TGIF!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by reviewing the Vocabulary Quiz on Tuesday. It will consist of ten words, 7 words from 5 World Religions. The 3 other questions will be – 1) Name a religion that is nor monotheism or polytheism (Buddhism) 2) Name a religion that is polytheistic (Hinduism) 3. Name a religion that is Monotheistic (Judaism, Christianity, Islam). I will then  review a couple notebooks for the notebook check. We will then learn about the second world religion, Buddhism!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by collecting Reading Skills 1.2. I will then review Card Marking 2’s notebook check and the rubric, students received the rubric for this yesterday. 7thMarking Period 2 Notebook Check (see below for more directions) We will continue to discuss Hinduism by filling out a 5WR Double Sided Cornell Notes 5WROVERALLCNOTES (2) 5WROVERALLCNOTES (1), followed by starting our first and second w writing prompts over Hinduism! Good Morning!

Today in class, we are starting my favorite unit of the year, the 5 World Religions. In years passed, students have very much enjoyed this unit and have learned a lot from it. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by getting back some papers and completing a preview activity over the 5 World Religions. Students will also receive a Questions & Connections WS for this week, that will be due on Friday or Monday, but today they just need to concentrate on the Tuesday section! 5WRConnq On student/parent connect, there will be a grade for the 5WR Preview Activity and Vocabulary, which all students will turn in at the end of the hour today! (They all completed the vocabulary before break!)

Eastern Religions Reading (2)Good Morning! I hope you all enjoyed your time off from work/school/etc and that you were able to relax and hopefully not play Fornite. We have approximately 10 days left in card marking 2, because it ends on Friday January 18th. All students should be checking student connect for grades to make sure they have all the work turned in for all classes!

Today in class we will begin the hour by going over a few general rules. All students will be receiving a Reading Skills Worksheet 1.2 that is due on Thursday. ReadingSkills2 (4) ReadingSkills2 (3) ReadingSkills2 (2) ReadingSkills2 (1)We will then get our materials for our next chapter. Three Western Religions ReadingWe will then finish the hour by completing All Around The World and our meditation worksheets!

Homework: 1. Reading Skills 1.2 Due Thursday 1/10 2. Make sure AAW-Midterm review is complete! 3. Start getting notebook put together (based on Friday’s 12/21 blog post)
