11/20 Test Today!

Good Morning and TGIT(Tuesday!)

Today in class, we will begin the hour by taking our Chapter 4-7 Quiz. We will then finish up our Chapter 4-7 Expert Assignment Thinking Maps. Students will also receive a Geoskills Packet 2.2, that is due on Friday, November 29th.AfricaMapQuestions (2) AfricaMapQuestions (1)NESW (2)NESW (1)

11/19 – Checking Study Guide today, test tomorrow!

Good Morning!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by checking our study guides first thing. As a reminder. we our test tomorrow will be 24 questions that will be all matching! We will then be reviewing our expert assignment and we will be making a circle map out of our findings.

As a reminder all students should have started Moby Max by now, that is due by 12/7. They must log on through the Dearborn Public Schools website and go through clever that way to get to Moby Max. 90 minutes are due by 12/7!

11/16 Continuation of Hammurabi’s Code!

Good Morning!

In all classes, I will be discussing the test that we will take on Tuesday. It will be 24 questions over Chapter 4-7 Vocabulary. The entire test will be matching. I highly suggest making notecards to help you all study! I would like to remind all that if you will not be here on Monday or Tuesday, you need to let me know ASAP so we can take the test early! This way you will not forget the work after Thanksgiving break! 🙂

Today in class, we will continue our discussion on Hammurabi, and we will finish our Hammurabi’s Code WS that is due at the end of the hour. We will then begin to work on our expert sections if time permits.

11/15 – Hammurabi’s Code of Laws

Good Morning!

Reminders:

It was very nice meeting many of you last night! I appreciate you all taking the time to come into conferences! If I did not get a chance to meet with you last night, please feel free to email me at crechim@dearbornschools.org

If you will not be here on Monday or Tuesday next week please see me ASAP. I will need you to take next Tuesday’s Chapter 4-7 Test, which is 24 questions all matching ASAP. I do not want you to come back from break and forget it all! 

1st hour bring in canned GOODS!!!!!!!

 

Today in class, students will be assigned a reading of an expert section based on their table number. They will be given each a few pages to read where they will find the main idea, and then write a level 2 and level 3 question on the notecard (look below for the table numbers and pages). We will learn about Hammurabi and his code of laws. We will take Cornell Notes over the laws and determine if they are fair or unfair and whether or not they could be used in the United States today. No answers are wrong as long as you back up the evidence!

11/14 – Comparing and Contrasting Civilizations!

Good Morning!

-As a reminder, there are parent-teacher conferences tonight from 4-7pm in the cafeteria. If you bring your notebook and planner, you will receive extra credit!

Today in class, each student will receive a worksheet and Cornell notes regarding Hammurabi’s Code, students will need to talk to the text over the words and begin the left hand side of the Cornell Notes HamCodeWS (2) HamCodeWS (1) HammCodeCN2018. We will continue to learn the difference between Ancient Civilizations and Current Civilizations. We will then begin to talk about Hammurabi and his code of laws.

11/13 – SAFE Presentations

Good Morning!

It was very nice meeting/seeing some of you at conferences last night! If I did not get a chance to meet you last night, there will be conferences from 4-7pm in the cafeteria on Wednesday!

Today in class, we will begin the hour getting assigned some reading. Everyone must read page 46, however, please follow the directions below in order to know what page you need to read by table number:

We will then continue the hour by having a presentation by SAFE. If time permits, we will continue to review the aspects of the ancient civilizations and compare them to today’s civilizations.

11/12 Beginning Chapter 4-7 Today!

Good Morning!

Couple of reminders!!

– Parent Teacher Conferences will be held tonight and Wednesday from 4pm-7pm in the cafeteria! If you bring your notebook and planner, you will be given extra credit on either day! 🙂

Today in class, we will begin the hour by receiving our Chapter 4-7 Study Guide. We will be checking it next Monday the 19th, and taking the test the 20th before we go on Thanksgiving break! CH47SG (2) CH47SG (1) We will then continue with a preview activity with how early city-states survived. We will then begin to read and take notes comparing civilizations today to ancient civilizations.

11/9 A-Z Booklets due at the end of the hour today!

Good Morning and TGIF! (Also, why is it snowing?!)

1st hour – Please bring in canned goods for the annual canned food drive!!!!!!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by watching flocabulary for our current events assignment for Card Marking 2. We will begin Side 1 today, however, side 2 will not be completed yet, so please don’t lose this! CURRENT EVENTS WS FLOCAB(1) We will then continue and complete our A-Z Booklet in all around the world, it is due at the end of the hour today!

11/8 – A-Z Booklet due tomorrow at the end of the hour!

Good Morning!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by reviewing how to complete the A-Z booklet. Students must write in the definition, write the sentence using the word and underline the word, and draw the picture for each of the 24 vocabulary words. The best way to complete this is to get each definition and sentence, followed by sketching the drawing out and coloring it at home. Students will get SOME time tomorrow to work on this in class, but it is due at the end of the hour tomorrow.

I am attaching all 24 pictures so students can work on this at home tonight, or in class on the computer.

11/7/18 – A-Z Booklets/Word Maps!

Good Morning!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by placing scores in our planner for card marking 1, this includes our positive participation points and our final grade for card marking 1. Each group will then be assigned 1/24 vocabulary words from the A-Z Booklet to make a vocabulary word map for the rest of the classes to use.
