IXL Extra Credit- 8^th Grade Writing Strategies

To be eligible for extra credit, you must complete exercises over the winter break.  I will not accept any work done before, or after, the break.  You will be given points based on how many you complete and get correct.

This post is to remind all students that the final copy of their Monkey’s Paw prequel is to be complete and submitted by 8am Monday, November 25th.
This is something they had class time to work on and is due whether student is in school Monday, or not. No exceptions will be made for those who do not attend school Monday as this can be submitted at any time via google classroom.

The superstitions information is attached for anyone who could not complete the work in class today.

Attached is a literary terms assignment that was given to students today in class. This assignment is due on Monday, October 28th, as it will be presented to the class.  Each student received a specific word to work on and you should see them working on this over the weekend.

Attached are the directions for the pages per minute chart in your composition book. Remember your charting pages read between 9/13 and 10/22.  The chart is required to be completed before you turn in your composition book on Friday.

Please use the following example to guide the completion of your book timelines each card-marking. Remember you need to have two books completed per CM.

All students who were in school today must complete annotations on the article they received in class, “Teen Vaping: Overblown or Epidemic”. Most of them only had about 10-15 minutes to start this in class, so it will likely take them another 20-30 minutes to complete.

This assignment is due the minute they walk through the door tomorrow.

Those who were absent today will have an additional day to complete the assignment.

Students in class today received a book mark assignment that is going to be connected to their part 2 summer learning. This is one component of the book talk they will give next week. The bookmark is due when students arrive to class on Tuesday, September 10th.
