This is just a friendly reminder that we will be attending the play, The Diary of Anne Frank, on Monday, March 12th.

All students who are attending need to remember to dress theater appropriate. Students will not need to bring a lunch (unless they choose to), as the PTA has arranged to have pizza and beverages for the students upon our return.

Students who are not attending the play will still be expected to come to school.

This is just a friendly reminder of homework that is due tomorrow.

On Monday, February 26th, all students were assigned character analysis writing, based off of the book (novel) they are reading for SSR. This assignment is due tomorrow by 8 AM and details can be found in Google Classroom. Due to the fact that they had a full week for this assignement, no extension will be granted because of the snow day.

On Thursday, March 1st, all students were assigned 3 pieces on the Holocaust to read and annotate. They had, roughly, 30 minutes of class time to work on this and what they could not finish was homework (see previous blog post). This is now due tomorrow, as the result of the snow day.

Again, both assignments are due when they arrive at school tomorrow. Please email me with any questions.

Today students selected 3 articles related to the Holocaust to read, annotate and become “experts” on. Some of the work was completed in class, but most students will have homework to complete this evening. It is due when they walk through the door of class tomorrow.
As each student is a part of a group that is depending on them to be a part of a required conversation on this topic; it is imperative they complete all of their work, tonight.

Today all students received 2 assignments. They have a CER to write and an article to read and annotate (according to given directions). They had roughly 30 minutes of class time to get this started in school today. Some of them used this time wisely, some of them did not.

The CER is due by midnight tonight and the annotations by the start of class tomorrow. The CER should be ONE paragraph of 8-10 sentences, not one 8 paragraph CER. I have attached the CER rubric and directions; the assignment is to be created and submitted through google classroom.

Student were reminded that they need to reread directions and rubric expectations, before they ask questions. Anything that cannot be answered by doing that, they should email me before 9 pm.

All students received these guidelines earlier in the year and were asked to store them in their binders for future reference. As many students seem to be “forgetting” how to do this; I am posting it.

On Wednesday, February 7th, all students were given information and a permission slip regarding our upcoming field trip to see “The Diary of Anne Frank” play.

All permission slips and money are due to me by Friday, February 16th.
