Underline any words you do not know so we can define them together.

Identify at least 3-5 words.

2.) Read through the SAT SLOT passage on p. 13-14.

3.) Annotate claim/main idea, summarize each paragraph, etc… We will do some together & some will be on your own.

4.) Make sure all 4 Square Boxes are completed by the end of class.

Classwork for 03-08-19

1.) Bell Work:

Which type of propaganda do you think is the most influential? Explain.

Transfer – Testimonial – Glittering Generalities – Plain Folks – Bandwagon -Name Calling – Card Stacking

2.) Turn in your Interactive Notebooks to be graded! You’ll need them over the weekend to study for Monday’s TEST.

3.) TEST REVIEW

  • Know all of your vocabulary!
  • Know your people! Czars, leaders, etc…
  • What problems happened with rapid factory growth? (4 of them on p. 17)
  • Russo-Japanese War, Bloody Sunday, & World War I: What are they? How did they lead to the final revolution? (p. 17)
  • What was the goal of the 5 Year Plan?
  • Which event(s) of the czarist rule do you think was most responsible for the fall of the czar? Provide details to support your claim. Answer in complete sentences. (p. 18)
  • Describe Stalin’s Totalitarian State. What policies did he use? What methods did he use to make it totalitarian? Provide two specific examples in your description. (p. 19 in notebook)

  • Create a propaganda poster that Stalin’s Totalitarian State might use to further their agenda. Be sure to include:
    • At least one picture with color
    • Write a slogan/phrase for it
  • Hint: Start by deciding what Stalin wants people to do
  •  On the back:

a.) Describe the goal of the poster.
b.) Which of the 7 techniques is used?
c.) Explain why this poster would be effective.
