Homework p 411#51-56.
Hello Students,
I just wanted to update you on the fast-moving situation regarding our online classes. This afternoon, Governor Gretchen Whitmer expressed her “dismay” about the Michigan Department of Education’s statement, releasing her own statement assuring educators and parents that this time could possibly count. The MDE released its original statement because in order for our time to count, the Michigan legislature must change the law; the MDE has no power here. So what does that mean for us? *It is very possible—even likely—that our time online will count. So keep working.* Our state lawmakers do not want to anger parents and educators across the state. So let’s keep our momentum going.
Please read the message below from your principal regarding the MDE annoucement:
It is the expectation of your administration and teachers that you participate in online learning. The work being assigned to you is to ensure that you do not fall behind academically. Our goal remains 1200+sri, and proficiency in all subjects. All careers require a minimum SRI of 1200 and proficiency in math. We are not sure when we will return, but we will continue to provide you with learning opportunities. As a family, it is important for us to continue to grow and thrive academically. Thank-you
As for today’s work, please watch Thu 03-19 video to correct homework p410-411#23-32.
Due Sunday by midnight 20 Khan Academy SAT questions.
SAT bellwork see picture below.
Today is day 3 of section 5.1. Find below sample problems example 4 and 5 which should be copied in your notebook (under examples 1,2 and 3). We are still simplifying trig expressions and your practice for today: p410-411#23-32.
I also recommend that you guys create a personalized trig identity sheet (will be discussed in the video also see sample below).
Homework p410-411#23-32
Today I will be giving you feedback for 5.1 homework objective: simplify trig expressions. The homework was p410#9-22 and as we always discuss in class, if you did not try it yourself and struggled with it, feedback does not make any sense. But if you did try it, when you check the solution it will make more sense to you.
I also included a bellwork question that Zeinab E volunteered to solve yesterday, thank you so much Zeinab! Zeinab solved it correctly but using a long way. I included Zeinab’s method as well as my shortcut method in this post. Everything will be discussed in a video later.
I do want everyone to check their work and make corrections before watching the video please. Give yourself time to think through and process info before I explain it to you! Stay safe and I truly miss everyone of you!
