Hello Parents!

The Holiday Shop went well, your child will be coming home with some treasures! Please remember that tomorrow is the Holiday Concert for the 2nd and 3rd grade.  Your child needs to report back to school tomorrow night at 6 pm and meet in their classroom (Room 7) to deposit their coat/boots.  Our class will be singing on stage about 6:15 pm.

Homework for tonight: Read 20-30 minutes with a reading response, spelling activities and practice multiplication facts. (The Bubblegum challenge is starting after our holiday break!)

Tomorrow we have Art.

Hello Parents!  I hope everyone is enjoying this Winter Wonderland!!

We have a busy week this week.  The Holiday Shop opens tomorrow and we are scheduled to attend on Tuesday, Dec. 12th at 9:00 am. ( Baggies for money and a reminder slip will go home tomorrow) Wednesday is the Holiday Concert for 2nd and 3rd grade.  Students should report at 6 pm to the classroom to deposit their coats, then we are scheduled to perform at 6:15.

This week’s spelling words for 3rd grade focus on the /ow/ chunk:

know, blow, throw, willow, glow.  The content words are: because, conclusion, ruler, vibrate, century.

The 2nd grade words focus on beginning consonant diagraphs /ch, sh, th, wh/:

chill, chase, sheep, think, while, these, shall, the, who, their.

Tomorrow we have Gym and Library, please make sure your child brings gym shoes and returns their library books.

Update on our January Field Trip

Dear Families,

We will be visiting the Cranbrook Institute for Science on Friday, January 19th.  It will be an all day field trip.  The cost is $12, cash only please, due by Tuesday, Dec. 19.  Four parents may attend as chaperones, but they must drive separately due to limited space on our bus.  Please let me know if you’d like to chaperone by Monday, December 11th.

A message to all parents with 4 year olds!

Attention:
Families with Preschool age children who are 4 years of age by December 1, 2017.  There is an immediate possibility of free full day preschool beginning in January 2018 in the Dearborn Public Schools (next month). The family must be eligible based on risk factors and not currently enrolled in a GSRP program.  If interested, families may pick up an application at the Cotter Early Childhood Center, 13020 Osborn or call Nadia Berry at 313-827-6150.
Please respond immediately as slots are limited.
Families must live in the city of Dearborn.
