Tonight your child has to complete math pages 84 and 85.  They also need to be working on their spelling activities and, of course, remember to read 20-30 minutes.

Your child is coming home with a Parent Letter regarding our new module in math.  Please read this 2 sided note to help you understand what we will be working on for the next few weeks.

Homework for tonight: Begin spelling activities, read 20-30 minutes. Some of the children will do math corrections to their module 2 math test.

Tomorrow we have Gym.  Don’t forget gym shoes!

This week we will continue to study communities in Social Studies, the 3 states of matter in Science, narrative writing in Writer’s Workshop and reading strategies in Language Arts.  We will begin a new Math unit this week, focusing on place value.  More information to come regarding our new math unit!

Spelling this week focuses on the vowel pairs /ai/ and /ay/.  Here are the words to study this week:

main, sail, wait, train, tail, jay, stay, may, hay, pay.

We will have Writing Enrichment tomorrow…enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Dear Parents,

Halloween is coming up quickly! We will do a small celebration at the end of the day. 2:45-3:30.  We will write a story or make a craft on that day. (Perhaps even watch a Halloween cartoon)  Parent help is not needed.

There are students with allergies in our classroom, so if you would like to send in a treat for your child to share, could you please email me?  That way, we can discuss the specifics. My email address is chasen@dearbornschools.org

Your child can wear their Halloween costumes in to school on Wednesday, Oct. 31^st. Please be aware that there will be no masks, weapons, or scary makeup allowed in school.
