Happy Sunday!

Well, it finally stopped raining!  I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

Please remember that there is no school for students on Tuesday, November 6th.  Our spelling words this week will focus on vowel pairs /ow/, /oe/, /oa/ that sound like the long /o/:

grow, crow, low, mow, toe, doe, goes, foam, soap, toast.

We will have Writing Enrichment on Monday.

Thank you to the parents who signed and returned their conference reminder slip.  For those who did not, please check the date and time, sign and return that as soon as possible.  I have some empty slots if the time does not work for you.  I can also do afterschool conferences if that works better.  Please let me know!

Have a great rest of your weekend!

Happy Sunday!

Greetings!  I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

This week’s spelling focuses on words with the long /I/ sound (i, y, ie):

try, fry, cry, dry, pie, die, tie, lie, wild, mild.

Our marking period is coming to an end soon.  Please make sure your child has all of their homework and test corrections turned in.  We are trying to build independence in Second Grade, so your child should be moving toward taking responsibility for homework and assignment completion.

We will be completing a Social Studies Study Guide this week and we will be taking the test either at the end of this week, or early next week.  Please make sure your child completes and brings back their study guide so we can go over it together.

Tomorrow we have Writing Enrichment and the Book Fair.  If you would like your child to purchase something, please place money in a zip lock bag or envelope labeled with their name.  The ones who do not come with money can browse and make a wish list for themselves.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
