Happy Valentine’s Day!

Good Afternoon!  We are starting a 4-day weekend and I feel that with all the snow/ice days, the kids are not attending to their reading as much as they should.  PLEASE make sure your child reads at least 20-30 minutes per day over the weekend!  Mobymax reading will count as reading!!  Our contest is still going on.

Good Afternoon parents!

Don’t forget that tomorrow is a half day! Dismissal is at 11:45.  No school on Friday or Monday (Winter Break)

Our spelling activities are due tomorrow and we will have the spelling test.  Please make sure your child reads 20-30 minutes tonight.

Tomorrow we will have a small Valentine Day party starting at about 11:00 am. The class list is in your child’s homework folder if they would like to address Valentine’s

Greetings Parents! Tomorrow is our field trip, so make sure your child brings a bag lunch labeled with their name!!  Chaperones can sign in to the office and report to Room 16 at 9:00 am. (Chaperones, bring yourself a lunch too!)

We have a 3 1/2 day week this week! Thursday is a half day and we will celebrate Valentine’s Day in the morning.  I will send home a class list this week, so if your child wants to trade valentines with classmates, they can do that (no pressure).  As we have done with parties in the past, we will exchange valentines, then watch a cartoon or do a craft.

Friday, February 15th and Monday, February 18th we have off for Winter Break.

We WILL have spelling words this week, spelling activities will be due on THURSDAY.  Our spelling words focus on the vowel pairs /au/ and /aw/:

pause, cause, launch, haunt, draw, jaw, crawl, bawl, hawk, law.

Tomorrow when we get back from the field trip, we will pick books at the library.  Please make sure your child brings in their books to return.

$.50 Snow School Book Sale

Snow Staff, Students, and families please participate in a Leader in Me activity. Please go through bookshelves at home to donate any books that your family is ready to recycle. This creates a Win-Win (Habit 4) because we will be Synergizing working together is better (Habit 6) by organizing and revisiting books that may have been forgotten and new families will be able to enjoy donated books for a low price.
Book sales will be Wednesdays:
March 13th, 20th, and 27th.

The money collected will go to purchase a second water purifier for Snow School.

Please drop off donated books outside Mrs. Bush’s office anytime in February.

Good Afternoon!

Homework for tonight: Read 20-30 minutes each night and complete math pgs. 43 and 44.  Please see below for a message regarding our Field Trip on Monday:

2nd Grade Field Trip Monday

 

We are all set and very excited about our field trip on Monday!  We will travel by school bus to The Henry Ford in Dearborn. First, we will watch the 3D Amazon Adventure movie on the giant screen.  Then, we will eat lunch. Please remember to send a sack lunch with disposable drink to school with your child. Last, we will tour The Henry Ford Museum.   

 

Parent Chaperones – Please meet in our classroom at 9:00 A.M.  We will assign groups and go over rules. Then, you may depart to meet us at the Giant Screen at The Henry Ford.  Please remember to bring a lunch for yourself.

 

If you were not cleared as a chaperone, you may not be added to our trip last minute.  We paid in advance and parents must have a background check.  We appreciate your cooperation with this matter. Also, younger siblings may not attend if you are chaperoning.

 

Lastly, we kindly ask that you do not send money for refreshments at the movie theater or souvenirs at the gift shop.
