Good News from the Media Specialist!

Hello!
We are excited to start to offer walk-up curbside library service to Snow students on Tuesdays from 1:30 – 3pm at the library windows near Door #1 (main Culver entrance). There will be a sign on or near the library windows. Students would need to have no overdues or fines currently, and would need to place the book on hold using our online library catalog. Students can return books at the window also, or use our Book Return box just inside the doors of Door #1 (main entrance door) M-F during school hours. They would ring the buzzer to access the box. Here is a video of:
How to Request Books from Snow Media Center (place a book on hold)https://youtu.be/cBiuqUn38jY

Once a student places the hold, we will get the book, then email the teacher and/or student to let the student(s) know that they can come on the next Tuesday (Library window) to pick up the book(s). Mrs. Koman will be there to greet students through the window.
**Students will need to hear from us before coming to get a book. **Limit 2 books per week**Students would need to return overdue books to participate.**Any student with overdue books can turn them in at this time as well.

Thank you so much for your help in spreading the word,

Janine and Andrea

Welcome Back!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! It was wonderful to spend some quality time with family and friends!

We have only 3 weeks until our Christmas break and I want the class to be doing their best work and focusing so let me remind everyone about what your child is responsible for each day.

The kids should be working on iReady 20-30 minutes each day. This will help them progress as readers, since it is tailored specifically for their needs. Please make sure your child is doing that daily.

Zearn should be done on a daily basis as well. This will help reinforce what we have learned in math. In addition to zearn, they should be completing the lesson homework in their SUCCEED book. Please make sure that you ask to see their homework daily.

Social studies and Science are to be done asynchronously (independently) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I will meet with the class to do synchronous work (work done together). They will meet me on Zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:25-1:00.

At 1:00 the kids should go to their specials. On Monday, they will do Writing Enrichment with Ms. Alsaad. On Tuesday, they will do Art with Ms. S. On Wednesday and Friday, they will do Physical Education with Mr. Moyer. And on Thursday they do Music with Mr. Stinson. Please make sure your child is working on the special area work as well as classwork. The teachers have made simple lessons that don’t require a lot of effort so there is no reason they cannot complete these in a timely manner.

Reading groups continue in the afternoon. I am considering combining some groups since some children need more reading help than others. I will let you know when I have done that and if it affects your child.

Thank you for your continued support and message me if you have any questions.

Have a great week!

Good Morning!

Don’t forget to pick up your child’s report card either today or tomorrow in the lobby from 12-3 pm.

If you haven’t already done so, please sign up for Parent Connect. You will be able to see what assignments your child has submitted and which assignments are missing.

It is easy to sign up for Parent Connect, go to the district website, click on Parent Connect and it will prompt you though the whole process.

Again parents, thank you for your support and please check with your child carefully each day regarding their work. Many of the kids are behind already and the marking period just began. We want them to have a happy, successful year even though it is virtual!

Have a great day!
