Happy Thursday!

It’s a cold one!

Tonight’s homework is to study spelling.  Please return any Field Trip permission slips tomorrow.

We have music on Friday, so recorders need to return to school with your child.

Updated report cards went home to some students.  Please check your child’s homework folder in case they received one.

Have a great evening!

Valentine’s Day

I know many of you are wondering about Valentine’s Day.  I told the children that if they chose to, they could bring in Valentine cards to pass to their classmates. (your child has a class listing of all names)  Also, if anyone wanted to bring a treat to pass, they could do that as well.

We will keep our celebration low key, limited to 35-45 minutes at the end of the day.  We will watch a fun movie or play a game together, whatever the class chooses to do.

Thanks for your patience, Valentine’s Day kind of crept up on us quickly! Enjoy your day!!

Happy Wednesday!

Hello Parents!

Our homework for today is to study spelling and complete Study Link 7.5.  Our moon project is ongoing.

If your child is going with us on the field trip please send in the signed Field Trip permission slip along with the $6.50 admission fee by Friday.

Tomorrow is gym, gym shoes are required.  We will also take our last NWEA test for the midyear tomorrow.  Our test will be in math.

Have a great evening!

Good Evening Parents!

I hope everyone is enjoying this nice weather!  My son lives in Boston and he is really snowed under.  (Better him than me!!)

Please don’t forget that tomorrow is late start.  If your child eats breakfast at school they need to report to the cafeteria between 9 and 9:30 to eat breakfast.  There is also our annual Donuts for Dads meeting.  If you have been a watchdog at Snow School this year, please wear your Watchdog T-Shirt.

Tonight’s homework is Study Link 7.3, study spelling and check the night sky for a view of the moon.  We have a moon project which consists of documenting the moon everyday for 3 weeks.  Please encourage your child to get out and look!  (Hopefully the clouds will cooperate and go away.)

We will have Art tomorrow and our very last NWEA test for this midyear will be given on Thursday.

Have a great night!

Hello all!

Welcome to a new week!

We have quite a bit of homework tonight…Study Link 7.2, we are beginning a moon project, we need to study spelling and multiplication facts.

Tomorrow we have Media, so our library books are due.  We also have gym, so gym shoes are required.

If you have not sent in your signed permission slip for our March 5th field trip, please do so asap!  It is due along with the money, on Friday.

Have a great evening!!

The weekend is flying by!!

I  hope everyone is enjoying this balmy weather!  Tomorrow we begin our last full week before the Winter Break.

This week’s spelling words focus on the words with an /al/ as a prefix or suffix:

neutral, fatal, numeral, although, almonds

The content words are Social Studies words:

executive branch, legislative branch, judicial branch, separate, balance.

Tomorrow we will have a short assembly about PBIS in the gym at 9:00.  We also have Art and Math Enrichment.

Please don’t forget to have your child practicing their multiplication facts.  We will begin focusing on fractions in Unit 7 in math and they will need to know how to change improper fractions to mixed numbers.  This will require knowledge of multiplication facts.  More than half the class is still struggling with memorizing their multiplication facts.  Please make it a priority for your child each and every day!

Our March 5th field trip is going to be here before you know it.  If you haven’t already done so, please sign your child’s permission slip and return it to me with the admission fee by Friday, February 13th.

Thank you to all of the parents who already volunteered for the field trip!  If you have not been on a field trip with your child in the last 2 years, please stop by the office to sign a document allowing a background check.  The office requires this before any parent can attend a field trip.  The process only takes about 5 minutes.

Have a great rest of your weekend!

It’s the Weekend!

Just a reminder:  The field trip permission slips are due Friday, February 13th along with the $6.50 fee.  We need to prepay this trip so that is why I need the slips and money in advance.

Our homework for this weekend is Study Link 7.1 and your child needs to review their Unit 6 test with you.  Please sign it and have your child return it to me Monday.

Have a great weekend!

Hello Snow!

Looks like we’re in for a bit more snow!  Yeah!!

Unfortunately, most of the children forgot to study for their math test over the four day break!  Therefore, they have a new study guide which they need to review . The test is rescheduled for tomorrow.

Our homework for tonight is:  Study for math test (again) and study spelling words.

We have gym tomorrow, so please make sure your child brings their gym shoes.  Also, Mr. Stinson  has given the children a description of how they can test their recorder skills at home.  Please look for this description sheet in your child’s homework folder.

Have a good night!

Enjoying the Snow Day?

I hope everyone is having fun in the snow today!  We’ll be back at it bright and early tomorrow!
