Homework for tonight: Students need to finish their practice Math test for Unit 9, finish their practice test for Social Studies, complete their Persuasive Essay for Social Studies and study for spelling. (many students completed the practice tests in class today)

Until further notice, our Library check out time has been moved to Monday afternoon (due to the students taking the M-Step). If your child forgot their book today, make sure that they bring it tomorrow. I will allow them to check out early tomorrow morning prior to the test.

It’s that time of year again, the Little Caesars Pizza Kit Fundraiser is underway! All proceeds will be used to help send next year’s Fifth Graders to Camp Pinewood. Packets have been sent home with all important information. If you need another, there are extras in the office. New for this year there is an online ordering option at www.pizzakit.com (
Order forms and payments are due on May 1st and pizza kits will be delivered on May 13th, 3:00 PM-6:00 PM.

Tomorrow the safeties will be going to a Tiger Game in the afternoon. The rest of us will be walking to Stout Middle School to see “Schoolhouse Rocks”. We will all eat lunch at 12:05 then head to our destinations after that. Make sure your child dresses for the weather!

Friday, we have been invited to walk to Stout Middle School to see the presentation of the musical “Schoolhouse Rocks”. Your child needs you to sign and return the permission slip tomorrow. There is no cost for this field trip.

Today we had an assembly introducing the students to the Little Caesars Pizza Kits. These kits are being sold as a fundraiser for 5th grade camp next year. Please make sure you check your child’s homework folder for the catalog and directions.
Homework for tonight is to study spelling words. Make sure your child turns in their idea sheet for their Science Fair Project. The sheet is on the front copy of the yellow Science Fair Packet. It is due tomorrow.

Everyone should have already started their Science Fair Project. The due date of May 11th is less than one month away! Students will present their project in class on May 11th, 12th and 13th. We will celebrate with the Science Fair and Ice Cream Social on May 14th at 6:00 pm.
This week’s spelling words focus on suffixes:
honestly, friendless, government, beginning, sympathy.
The content words are:
Bill of Rights, citizens, responsibilities, freedom, elections.
Tomorrow we will have Art and Math Enrichment.
If your child has not already turned in their corrections for the Unit 8 math test, make sure they get them to me tomorrow! Your signature is also required!
We will also be having a test on our Social Studies Unit entitled “Rights and Responsibilities of Citizens”. Watch for a practice test to be coming home sometime this week.
