I hope everyone got the chance to get out and vote today!

We completed parts 1 and 2 of the Mathematics M-Step.  Your children did a great job focusing!  We have Math part 3 tomorrow and Science on Thursday.  Make sure your child is rested and has a good breakfast.

Tonight’s homework:  Read and study spelling.

On our ABC countdown, tomorrow is compliment day.  Many of our children don’t know what a compliment is.  We discussed it,  and hopefully you will give your child some ideas of how to compliment a classmate.

Don’t forget our Raffle Basket for the School Picnic has the theme of Turtles.  Feel free to send anything in that has a turtle theme.

Science Fair Projects are due Monday, May 11th.  Make sure your child practices their presentation, they will be graded according to the rubric sent home.

Homework for today is Study Link 10.4 and study spelling.  We have started the ABC countdown, so tomorrow is Beach Day.  Students may bring flip flops and sunglasses to wear at certain times during the day.

We start Part I and II of the Math M-Step tomorrow, so be sure your child is rested and has eaten a good breakfast.  We will have Gym tomorrow, but in the afternoon, so make sure your child brings or wears gym shoes.

Wow!  This beautiful weather is fantastic!  I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

This week we will have M-Step Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  We will be testing Math and Science.  Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep and eats a good breakfast.

Tomorrow we will have Art, Math Enrichment and Media Center.  Make sure your child brings their library books back!

Our spelling words this week focus on changing the ending /y/ to /ies/.  The words are:

batteries, properties, berries, worries, families.

The content words are:

base, height, length, width, sides.

Homework this weekend:  Study Link 10.3 and read for at least 25 minutes each night.

Please don’t forget!  We have a concert tonight from 7-7:30.  Since the third graders are performing first, your child will sit with you in the audience.  When the third graders are done, the fourth graders will come up on stage.  I will signal them from the door when their time is up.  Dressy clothes are required.  Don’t forget the recorders!  Hope to see you there!!

Hooray!  We spent the last 2 days working on the ELA M-step.  The children did very well!  I loved the way they persevered and did their best work!  Kudos to all of them!!!  Next week we will have the Math and Science M-step on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Tomorrow we are back to the usual schedule.  We will have Gym in the morning, but a practice concert for the school at 1:45 tomorrow afternoon.  Make sure your child brings their recorders to school.

Don’t forget to bring your child back to school tomorrow at 6:45.  The concert starts at 7:00 pm.  We will meet in the classroom.

Tonight your child needs to read for at least 30 minutes for their homework.

We will have gym, but it is rescheduled until the afternoon.  Gym shoes required.
