Happy Sunday! Let me tell you what will be going on this week: First of all, one of our very own 4th graders was chosen to ask a question to the astronauts on the International Space Station! Congratulations to Haneen Anwar!! She will ask her question at the Michael Berry Career Center on Tuesday, October 27th about 12:00 pm. Only 18 students were chosen from around the district! We are thrilled that one of our own from Snow School will be able to participate!!!
Many children and parents have been asking about a Halloween Party. The children will be able to wear their costumes to school on Friday, October 30th. Please keep in mind that we will have gym on Friday morning, so please adapt your child’s costume so that your child will be safe while playing…also, make sure that no one wears masks or brings play weapons to school. We want everyone to have fun, but do not want any injuries!
Also, we will do an activity and/or watch a Halloween movie the last hour of the school day. If your child wants to bring treats to share, make sure the treat does not involve peanuts. We do have students with allergies in our classroom. (I am told cupcake batter may contain peanut products, so please do not send in cupcakes). Hard candy such as lollipops, or a healthy treat such as fruits or vegetables would be safe for all of the children. Halloween toys, such as rings or necklaces would also be a good alternative.
Our spelling lesson this week involves words with the long vowel /e/:
redeem, relieve, even, equal, scene.
Our content words are life science words:
environment, habitat, characteristic, adaptation, survival.
Have a great rest of your weekend! Any questions regarding any of the information above, please feel free to email me.
