Good Morning! I hope everyone remembered to “fall back”. This week, students will not attend school on Tuesday. (Election Day, don’t forget to vote!!) 3rd grade words: brother, purple, whisper, teacher, father, facts, details, estimate, trade, reflect.
2nd grade words: main, sail, wait, day, stay, today, play, want, again, always.
Tomorrow we will have Gym and Library. Make sure your child wears their gym shoes and brings back their library books.

I know it will be a busy night for the trick or treaters, but please try to have them read 20-30 minutes tonight. Also, the 3rd graders will be having a science test on Thursday. A study guide is going home with them today.

Homework for tonight: Read 20-30 minutes, begin spelling activities and subtraction problems. The children need lots of practice with regrouping (borrowing) in subtraction.
Your child will be bringing home a Math test and 2nd graders will have their Social Studies test as well. Please review the test and discuss the errors your child may have made. Your support is appreciated to have your child grow! Thank you!

Good Afternoon Parents!
This week we will have our Halloween Party on Tuesday, Oct. 31st from 1:45-2:30. Students may wear their costumes (no masks, weapons or scary face painting please). Some parents signed up for treats, so if you forgot what you planned on bringing, please feel free to email me.
This week we will have FUN spelling words. Both 2nd and 3rd graders will be challenged with these 20 Halloween words:
Halloween, witch, ghost, creaky, broomstick, brew, Jack O’Lantern, pumpkin, cauldron, vampire, werewolf, monster, howl, goblin, zombie, spooky, mummy, skeleton, scariest, haunted. The spelling activities will even change for this week…
Monday we have Gym, so gym shoes are a must. Library books are due and we will pick new ones tomorrow. You will be receiving a conference slip this week to remind you of the time, or, if you did not sign up for a conference, I will assign a time for you. Please check your time and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can reschedule.
Please note: Friday will be a half-day with a 11:45 dismissal. It is the end of the card marking, teachers will be working on grading report cards. Conferences start next week.
