Tomorrow we will have music.  For homework, your child should be completing their spelling activities and any work that was not completed today in class.

We were unable to have Gym today.  Mr. Moyer was absent and there was no sub available.  Keep your child in gym shoes, we will have our gym time made up some time this week!

Tomorrow we have Art and Media.

Homework for tonight: Work on spelling activities and complete a short 4 problem math sheet.

Hello Parents!

We are beginning a complete week of school!  Fortunately, the cooler weather has moved in.  Easier for all of us to concentrate!

This week’s spelling words focus on the short /o/ and /e/ and /u/.  The words for this week are:

dog, job, pet, went, jet, tell, hut, tub, bun, rub.

Your child will again receive a spelling tic, tac , toe to complete by Friday.  (Several children have tried to turn this in last week only half done…please make sure you check the directions and make sure your child is following them.)

Because we are starting a new math curriculum, chances are your child will be getting math homework each night.  Please remember this is the PRACTICE piece to what they learned in class, so this MUST be completed the evening they bring it home and returned in the morning.  Some children have several math homework pages already missing and need to turn those in ASAP!

Monday we will have Enrichment.

Homework for this weekend is Math pages 13 and 14.  Please make sure your child attends to their homework each night!  Some children are letting it pile up…this is our practice piece of our math lesson!!

Hello Parents!

Our spelling tic tac toe is coming home today.  Your child needs to do three activities in a row, attach the activities and bring it in on Friday.  The spelling words are:

had, wag, six, will, him, big, fill, cat, tag, hat.

We also have math lesson 1 homework today.  The top page is homework help (it explains to you what we did in class).  Your child needs to complete the second page and return it to school tomorrow.  You may keep the top page at home for your reference.

We did not check out today because a media secretary is not available.  I will let you know when one arrives and we can begin check out.

Tomorrow we have Art and Media Enrichment.

I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend!  We have an exciting week coming up!  We will be starting our new math series called “Eureka Math” .  This will replace our old Everyday Math Curriculum.  We will also begin Science and Social Studies along with Spelling this week.  The spelling words for this week are as follows:

The focus will be on words with the short /a/ and short /i/ sounds:

has, sat, will, fix, him.

I will also add 5 dolch words to this list.

Your child will come home tomorrow with a “Spelling Tic Tac Toe” sheet with all of the spelling words listed. He or she will be required to do 3 activities from the Tic Tac Toe sheet by Friday and attach them to the word list.  The spelling test will be on Friday each week.

We will have Gym tomorrow, so make sure your child wears their gym shoes! We will also visit the library for library check out.
