Oct. 10 is national Walk to School Day, and Snow School is planning to participate. We are encouraging all families to consider walking or biking students to school that day. A healthy lifestyle, including sufficient exercise, improves student achievement. Does your child get the suggested 60 minutes or more each day of physical activity? More families walking would also reduce traffic congestion around the school. Snow PTA will provide a small gift to all the students who participate on Oct. 10.

This week in spelling we will be focusing on the short and long /u/ sounds in words. The spelling words this week are:
cut, nut, cub, jump, bump, cute, rude, tube, fume, cube.
Just an update on the other subjects we are working on:
In reading, we will be focusing on rhyming words in a poem. In writing, we are focusing on using sensory words in a narrative with “Maisy Goes Camping” as our mentor text. In Social Studies we are studying about Communities. In Science we are working on the properties of matter (solid, liquid, gas). And as you know, in Math we are estimating measurements and measuring in centimeters and meters.
Tomorrow, we will have Writing Enrichment.
