Our last MEAP week

Monday and Tuesday will be our last two MEAP tests of the school year.  Remember to send your child to school rested and on time.  We will begin testing promptly at 9:00 am!

The monthly is quickly coming to a close.  Our PBIS celebration will be held on November 1st.  Your child has to have at least 13 green cards this month to participate.  We will show a movie and have a donut.  Continue to encourage your child to exhibit good behavior in the hallway, lunch room, playground and the classroom.

Have a great week!!

Welcome to MEAP Week!

This week begins the first week of MEAP testing.  Your child will be taking the reading test part 1 and 2, then the writing test part l.  Please make sure your child is well rested and comes to school on time to do his or her best on the test.

Hopefully, everyone has been visiting the Everyday Math website.  I will be sending home a letter explaining some of the parts of the website.  The Everyday Math website is very easy to maneuver and it encourages the children to be excited about math!  If you have not visited it, please plan on visiting the website very soon!

October Focus

It is hard to believe that October is already here!  Our focus for this month’s reading and writing will be informational.   In math we will focus on place value and addition/subtraction operations involving 2 or 3 digit numbers.  In science, will be discussing animal and plant adaptations.  In social studies we will be studying regional characteristics.

The September PBIS party will be soon!  Your child has to have at least 13 green cards in the month of September in order to participate.  Please continue to talk to your child about the importance of making good choices.  Each day is a fresh beginning!!

Welcome to Fourth Grade!

Welcome to a new school year!  We are doing lots of exciting things in September.  In reading, we are focusing on adventure stories.  In writing, we will be writing narratives.  In math, we will be studying geometric figures.  In science, we will study the organization of living things as well as the scientific process.  Our social studies focus will be US geography.

I look forward to meeting all of you at Open House on September 19th.  If you have questions, please feel free to call or email me.

See you soon!!
