According to our ABC countdown, tomorrow is math day.  We will plan on playing math games.  Thank you to Ms. Tolzdorf (Jason’t mom) for supplying lollipops for Lollipop day!

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Science Fair!  All of the projects were great!!  Our own Ainsley Samples won first prize for the 4th grade!  Congratulations Ainsley!

Students did not receive their homework in their mailbox today (SL 9.7), so they will receive it tomorrow.  (I will probably have them do it in class)

Hello Parents!  Make sure your child brings in their Science Fair Project tomorrow.  The judging will take place in the evening.  After the Science Fair, we will have an ice cream social.  Please plan on attending!

Tomorrow is Krispy Kreme Day in celebration of the letter K!  Thank you to Rylee’s Grandma who has volunteered to bring donuts for the class!

We are still in the process of taking end of the year assessments.  I am finishing up the Reading Tests.  Tomorrow is the end of the year Math common assessment.  We still have one Science assessment and one Social Studies assessment left for the school year.  Please make sure your child gets plenty of sleep for the next few weeks of the school year! (I know it is hard when it stays light for so long, but school work is a very important job!)

I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend!  We only have a four day week, so our spelling test will be on Thursday this week.  The spelling focuses on Compound Words.  The words are as follows:

paperweight, overhead, backyard, grandparent, waterproof.

The content words are:

magnetic, conductor, magnetism, attract, force.

We have our Science Fair on Tuesday!  Have your child bring in their Science Fair Project tomorrow.  We don’t want them to forget it on Tuesday…No one is allowed to call home to get their Science Fair Project on Tuesday!!!

Tomorrow is Jam Day.  Your child can bring in their favorite music to listen to…please keep in mind that music is subject to teacher approval.

If you would like to donate to our picnic basket for the Snow Picnic, our theme is “water toys”.  I am taking donations up until Picnic time!

The weekend is finally here!  Hopefully, it will be full of sunshine.  Make sure your child finishes up his or her Science Fair Project this weekend and brings it in Monday or Tuesday.  Remember:  Tuesday will be the judging, so if your child does not bring in a project, they will not be participating in the contest! I will not allow your child to call home to get their project if they forget it, so please have them bring it in early if at all possible.

Thank you to Ms. Tolzdorf (Jason’s mom), for sending in ice cream for ice cream day!  We all enjoyed our tasty treat outdoors today!!

I still have an opening for Krispy Kreme donuts on May 20th, so have your child sign you up as soon as possible!  Monday is Jam Day, your child is allowed to bring in their favorite music CD to share.

The meeting for Camp Pinewood is tonight in the Cafeteria.  The meeting will take place from 6-7 pm.  Please come by to hear all about Camp for your child next year!

Unit 8 test corrections are due tomorrow.  Please make sure your child turns theirs in on time.  I will not accept late submissions.

Spelling Test tomorrow!  Make sure your child is studying their words daily.

Please have your son or daughter read each and every night.  This good habit will help them throughout their lifetime.

Tomorrow is our field trip to see “Charlotte’s Web” at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor.  Please make sure your child gets to school on time, since we are leaving at 8:50 am.

Students may bring in completed Science Fair Projects any time.  I will store them in the classroom until May 20th…

There will be a 5th Grade Camp Meeting on Thursday, May 15th from 6-7 pm in the Snow Cafeteria.  Make sure you and your child attend this very important meeting.  Any and all questions will be answered by the 5th grade teachers.  Please see reminder note in your child’s homework folder.

Please have your child do Unit 8 Math Assessment corrections as soon as possible.  Friday is the last day I will accept them.

According to our ABC countdown schedule, tomorrow is Fan Day.  Tomorrow your child may wear articles of clothing celebrating their favorite sports team, bands, or actors/actresses that they are a fan of.

On Wednesday, we have a late start.  School starts at 9:35.

On Thursday, our bus for the field trip will be leaving at 8:50 am.  Please make sure your child is on time, we don’t want to leave them behind.  Unfortunately, if they miss the bus or are ill, we are unable to refund their price of the ticket. We purchased all of the tickets over a month ago, and the theater group does not give refunds.  So please make sure your child is here and here early.  A note to the same effect is in your child’s homework folder.

Your child needs to make corrections on their Unit 8 Math Assessment.  Make sure corrections are on a separate sheet of paper, signed by you, and attached to the original Unit 8 Assessment.  It is very important that your child understand what they did wrong and the corrections help clarify misunderstandings.
