Library Day Today!

Good Morning!  Just a reminder that today is library day.  Make sure if your child brought home their library books, that they bring them back for return or renewal.  If your child’s library books are at school, no worries!

Today is also gym day, so make sure your child wears gym shoes today…

Have a great day!

Happy Sunday!

Good Afternoon!  I just wanted to give you the list of Week 2 Spelling Words:

This week we will focus on short vowels /a/ and /e/.

problem, latitude, machine, system, member.

The content words are:

points, lines, line segments, rays, quadrangles.

I will not be at school on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday therefore Week 1 Spelling Test will not be returned until Thursday.  Mrs. Clark will be my replacement, so if you have any questions feel free to ask her.  I hope to keep the classroom as close to normal as it is when I am in class, so Mrs. Clark and I will be in close contact for those three days.  You may also email me at any time, since I will also be checking my email as often as I can.

Have a great rest of your weekend!

Happy Weekend!

Parents:

I have been chosen to be the Science Representative for Snow School.  It is very exciting!  However, I have a commitment to train at Wayne RESA on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.  That means that I will not be in class with your child on those days.  I have a wonderful teacher who is substituting for me on those three days.  Her name is Mrs. Clark and I feel blessed to have her in my room while I am away.  If you have any questions or concerns,  please don’t hesitate to ask Mrs. Clark, she is extremely capable and conscientious.

When I return on Thursday, I will have  knowledge of Project Based Learning in Science which I will use in my classroom.  This is a great thing, because all of your children seem to be very interested in the subject!

I hope everyone has a great weekend and please don’t forget that Thursday, September 18th is Open House!  I am looking forward to meeting all of you.

Our class has gotten bigger!

Welcome to the six new students who just joined our class after Mr. D’s split was dissolved!!  We are really enjoying our new additions and are in the process of getting to know each other.  (Welcome to their parents as well)

We have gym tomorrow, so make sure your child wears their gym shoes.  We also had hearing tests today, so ask your son or daughter how that went.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed this evening…no floods or power outages!!  Have a great afternoon!

Late Start Tomorrow!

Don’t forget!  School starts an hour later tomorrow.  If you child eats breakfast at school, please get them here about 9:15 so that they can eat breakfast in the Snow School Cafe!

Your child has a spelling word search to do for homework tonight.  Please make sure they return it in the morning.

Also, planners need to be signed each day!  Thank you to the parents who have been very diligent about the signature!  Your support is appreciated…

Have a great evening!!

Happy Monday!

Tomorrow students will be checking out books in the Library.  They will be able to keep their books for one week.  Remember to return them each Tuesday!

Your children are working on narrative stories.  They will be asking you about a time that you learned a lesson.  Your story can be shared with them orally, then tomorrow they will write it down during writer’s workshop.

Thanks for your continued support!!  Have a great evening!

Good Monday Morning!

Hello parents!

Normally, I blog on a Sunday evening, so you’ll know where we are headed for the week.  Unfortunately, I have been out of power for the whole weekend!  (Much to the dismay of my husband, who is a huge football fan!!!)  Therefore, I am blogging this morning in order to give you this week’s spelling words.

This week we will be focusing on vowels, so the spelling words are:

oxygen, strap, bent, umbrella, shipment

The content words are:  north, south, east, west, location

Students will receive their spelling words on Monday (they will write them in their planner), do activities throughout the week and have a test on Friday.

Please make sure your child is practicing their words each and every night, some of the words are quite difficult.

Have a great day!

Happy Weekend!!

We struggled through the heat and humidity to make it to Friday! Next week should be cooler and much more pleasant.

The Ice Bucket Challenge was a success!  We raised over $200 for ALS.  Thank you for your donation.

We are continuing to work on routines in the classroom.  Most planners have been signed this week, thank you for your support.

Your child has a very simple math review to do for their homework this weekend.  Please make sure that they return the completed homework sheet on Monday.

Have a happy, happy weekend!
