Another message from our PTA!

PTA NEWS:  Attention Parents!

The end of the school year is rapidly approaching and so is our Annual End-of-the-Year Picnic!  we are always looking for volunteers to help the picnic go off without a hitch!  We have plenty of open spots still available for the evening.  If anyone can help, please sign-up using the sign-up genius link:

We are looking for a few donations for the evening as well:  baked goods for our dessert table, along with juice boxes, water and soda.  If you are able to donate any of these items, please deliver by 3:30pm the day of the picnic.  We are also looking for crockpots to help cook the hotdogs at the picnic.  If anyone has one they are willing to let us borrow that evening, please let us know.  We’ll need that by 2pm that day.

We are having our last PTA meeting of the year on Tuesday, June 7th at 6pm.  We will also be packing all of the preorders and putting together the raffle baskets that day.  Please come join us for the meeting and stay after to help us finalize last-minute picnic details.  Any and all help is welcome.

Any questions, please contact Jeannette Warren, PTA president: trysmom@gmail.com.

Thank you!

Monday News

Good Afternoon!

Just a reminder:  Our theme for the School Picnic Basket is “Summer Fun”.  We have not received any donations so far, so if you can…send in something prior to June 3rd.

Homework for tonight:  Study our new spelling words, make corrections to the Multiplying Decimals Quiz and return tomorrow.  Students who get a parent signature will get extra credit!

Tomorrow we will have M-Step testing.  We will also have Gym and Library.

Have a good evening!

A Message from our PTA

The Snow Picnic is less than a month away.

Hopefully the classroom teachers are well on their way to gathering donations for their raffle baskets.  We appreciate your support on this.  About half of the revenue for the picnic comes from raffle baskets, which allows us to keep prices low for food and bouncies so struggling families can still participate.  Please ask parents to turn in items by Friday, June 3.

Secondly, we need help recruiting volunteers for the picnic.  Please consider putting the link to our SignUp Genius on your blogs and asking parents and others to help out. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0c4aabac28a4f85-snow

Thanks,
Katie Hetrick

And tomorrow is Monday….

Please remember that we will be taking the M-Step tests again this week.   Make sure that your child arrives to school on time and has plenty of rest.  They will also need a healthy snack (fruit and vegetables preferred).  We want them to do their best….

This week’s spelling focuses on compound words:

paperweight, overhead, backyard, grandparent, waterproof.

The content words are science words:

negative, positive, repel, magnetism, attract, force.

We will have Art tomorrow and please make sure you check the weather forecast.  Your child needs to dress for the weather.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

A message from the Principal

Warm Weather Dress Code Reminders

Now that warmer weather is here, please be aware that the Dearborn Schools Student Code of Conduct requires that student clothing should be “modest and avoid distracting influences.”

For your child’s safety and comfort, we ask that students wear shoes that are appropriate for running and playing on the playground instead of flip flops.  Please also refrain from allowing students to wear shirts with spaghetti straps and we ask that girls wear shorts under their skirts or dresses.

Thanks!

Ross C. Groover, Ed.D.
