Good afternoon parents!  I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weekend!

Field trip permission slips are due back on Wednesday of this week.  If you would like to chaperone, there will be a fee for your admission as well.  Also, background checks need to be on file in the office before you can chaperone a field trip.

Spelling focuses this week on the short / I/ and the long /I /sound:

did, fin, rip, mix, pick, fine, hike, ripe, pipe, bike.

Tomorrow we will have Writing Enrichment.

Please make sure that your child brings their reading bag back each day, we reread stories in our reading groups using the books in the bag.  By the way, there is a charge this year for any lost reading bag books, so please make sure your child puts them in a safe place at home.  In the past, younger siblings have damaged or destroyed the books.  Make sure books are up high, so younger siblings can’t reach them.
