Happy New Year/Welcome 2014!!

Greetings to everyone and Happy New Year!

2013 passed by very quickly but our classroom was very busy!  January started a little late due to the extreme weather so we need to move rapidly to catch up!

In writing, we will again be focusing on narratives and opinion writing.  Math will consist of multiplication and division strategies.  In science, we will finish up space study by finishing our planet reports and presenting them to the class.  We will continue with Michigan History in social studies and focus on the years 1830-2000.

Just a reminder about the concert on January 15th (this Wednesday).  We will be doing things a little differently this year.  Our evening will begin at 6:45 in our classroom and we will be showing parents the math games that we practice in our math workstations.  At 7:15, we will move to the gym to present a recorder concert.  Afterwards, we will show off our artwork that will be displayed in the hallway.  Hopefully,  all students and parents can attend.  Don’t forget to put January 15th on your calendar.  We begin at 6:45 sharp!!  Have a great week!
