Remote Learning 3/16-3/20

Spelling

Practice the spelling pattern throughout the week as usual. Have a parent or sibling give you a spelling test at the end of the week.

Spelling words: my, by, buy, dry, cry, shy, sky, try, fly, spy
Rule: y at the end of a word often sounds like the long I sound.

Notice: Many of these spelling words have side-by-side consonants that can be tricky to hear. Tapping out the sounds will help you hear every sound in the word! Buy and by sound the same but are spelled differently to help readers understand what you mean. Buy always means to purchase something.

Reading

Read your book bag books and books on Raz Kids every day.
You should complete at least 2 quizzes on Raz Kids everyday (10 per week). I will be able to see your quiz scores each time you take a quiz, so read carefully and look back in the book to check your answers!

Math

We will begin with reviewing the lessons we have completed so far in Module 4 on Zearn before moving on. You should complete at least one lesson a day. This week Lessons 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 will be due on Friday.

Writing

You should spend about 30 minutes each day working on writing each day. Read a nonfiction book on Raz Kids from the Reading Room and write an informational writing piece about it. You should complete three different writing pieces (one each week) and bring them to school on April 13th to turn them in.

Challenge Assignments

If you finish all of the work above, you and your parent can decide if you should move on to work on the extra assignments.
