Testing…

The blog was not sending email notices yesterday – just testing to see if it’s up and running again!

Final Reminder

Just a final reminder that students are to bring a bagged lunch every day beginning tomorrow.    If possible, students should be making their own lunch, or participating as much as they can, as this is a life long skill, and one that will prepare them for adulthood and develop independence.

Also please note, it will be a few weeks before we go to job sites, therefore, students may wear shorts and sandals until then. I will make sure to post it on the blog when work sites begin.   In addition, students may bring a water bottle to school if they wish.

That’s it for now!  Welcome Back Everyone!!!

Welcome Back!

Ms. Cote and I are back to work and we are looking forward to seeing everyone’s smiling faces next week!  We hope you are taking advantage of these last few days of summer!

We will be sending home a copy of our class procedures in the mail this week, just as a reminder or for those who were not able to attend our orientation last spring.  Please remember, students are required to bring their own bagged lunch every day.  We will not have access to a microwave, so please do not send items that are frozen or that need to be reheated.  More information about our class will be sent home during the first week of school.

Students should bring to school one spiral notebook, and one academic planner, with spaces large enough for students to write in.  We will take care of the rest of the supplies.

That’s it for now!  Enjoy the rest of your summer and we will see everyone soon!  We are looking forward to a great year!

News for Current and New Students

Hello!

Students should have brought home a flyer for a Hawaiian Luau on June 12th.  The Hype Youth Board contacted Ms. Cote and I about wanting to do something special for individuals with special needs.  It will be a great opportunity for both the current and incoming students to get to know one another, become familiar with the building, etc.  Just to be clear, this is a Hype sponsored activity, Ms. Cote and I may  or may not be at this event.

Also, STEP (Services to Enhance Potential) will be contacting all new students (and current students who are not enrolled with STEP).  They will be setting up tours within the next few weeks for you to come see the facility, ask questions, and fill out required paperwork.  This is our only paid work site, and the students love going! Our goal is to have all the paperwork completed so that students are ready to begin at the beginning of the year.  You will need to bring your son/daughter with you, students ID,  and social security card.  They will give you more information when they call.

Late Return from Tiger’s Game

We apologize for our late return today!  There was quite a bit of construction traffic down by Comerica Park and it took us longer to leave than expected!  Thank you for being there on time and for your patience while waiting for us!  Other than that – it was a great day!  Thank you Dr. Tynan for an awesome time!    GO TIGERS!

Thank You!

We would like to send out a big thank you to all of the parents who came out to our meeting today!  Almost every single family was there today!  We sincerely appreciate your time and the effort you made to attend!  If you have any questions about today,  or anything regarding our program, please do not hesitate to contact either one of us.  We are looking forward to a great year next year!  But before we do that, we have to end this year!  We have the Tiger’s Game tomorrow and then a nice long weekend!  We hope you enjoy your time with your families.  Thank you again for coming, and WELCOME! to our new families!  We are looking forward to having you join us next year!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Camp and Ms. Cote

Reminders for the week of May 18th
