Reminders and Upcoming Events

Just a reminder that Thursday, April 2nd will be our last day of school before the break.  There will be no school April 3-12.  School will resume Monday, April 13th.

Last week, we discussed our dress code for the warmer months.  This week I would like to remind everyone to please keep personal hygiene in mind.  Please make sure students are wearing clean clothes, have taken a shower, brushed their teeth, and  wear deodorant DAILY.

Dates to Remember:

April 17th – Class trip to LaShish.  Sarah Hashem’s family has graciously offered to pay for our trip to LaShish (Sarah’s sister owns the restaurant!)  This trip will be free of charge!  Thank you Melissa!

April 21 – Open House at STEP – invitation only.  Some of you received an invitation to attend an Open House STEP.  You received this invitation either because your son/daughter is graduating this year, or because we feel that he or she could possibly graduate early, if they wish, as long as they have the right job placement, are aligned with CMH/Network Provider, etc.  This Open House will provide you with the information you need regarding services that are available after your son/daughter exits school.  You may be familiar with the work shop that some of our students attend, however, they offer a full array of services.  You don’t want to miss this opportunity.

April 14, 22, May 1 – Self Defense for Students with Disabilities.  Mr. Gary Tank will be coming in to teach our students self-defense.  He is coming in for three 90 minute sessions, and is donating his time.  Mr. Tank has been studying martial arts for over 30 years.  He holds two black belts and has taught martial arts for two large organization to people of all ages and abilities.  He is offering this class free of charge because he enjoys giving time to others, and “hopes that it impacts their life to understand the importance of giving”.  We are all looking forward to this class!
