Good Morning, March 17, 2020

Dear Parents and Families,

During the next few weeks I will be sending you messages through the Dojo. Please check it daily so you are up to date.
Even though we are not in class, your child is expected to continue to work and learn. I have to monitor their efforts and have to grade them.
One way for that is reading – I have given each child a basel book (a thick book with lots of stories) I will assign reading and have them respond in the journal I gave each child. The work and the journal will have to be turned in when we return to school.
Another way for me to monitor through a reading program called Raz Kids. It is an online reading program where the kids read and answer questions about that reading. There is also a test where they read and it records their voice as well as their answer to questions. I will be sending each one of you your child’s log in and code.
I will also resend you their Zearn code. They will have to go on Zearn and work. It will report their work to me in a report. This is to ensure that your child will continue to learn as well as to make sure their get accurate grades.
I will snap shot each of your child’s login codes. I have already enrolled them and selected their reading and math levels. They may have them do some easy reading and math to find their perfect level.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at burksg@dearbornschools.org or message me.

Here is a link to the Calendar Grid that we will be using for the next few weeks. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1if7fFRjnskz1aumiP1iPCs1ZGPqxJ9LVnfIwnCMUxj4/edit
