Our Google Meet: 1:00

I’m excited to share a story with all of you today. My fiction story has a main character named Ricky. Hmmmm….who could Ricky be? Maybe, you could make a prediction. I’ll give you one small clue: he’s something you would usually find outside. Let’s see if you are correct. Right or wrong, it’s o.k.—it’s fun to make a guess!!!! πŸ™‚

Looking forward to seeing EVERYONE at 1:00. Please remember to mute your mics. πŸ™‚

Love,

Mrs. Burke

Chromebook Distribution-Monday, April 27th

DuVall Chromebook Distribution planned for Monday, April 27thΒ

Please fill out this form if you would like to reserve a Chromebook on loan for your child. To take the DuVall Chromebook survey, please click here. Please complete this survey by 5:00 PM on Friday, April 24th as this will provide our staff with enough time to prepare the necessary number of Chromebooks based on the anticipated number of requests. The survey above must be filled out in order to make a reservation for a Chromebook on loan – we will not be able to distribute additional on-the spot requests as it takes time to prepare each of the Chromebooks.

Chromebooks must be returned to the school on the first day Dearborn Public Schools reopen after this mandatory shutdown. Students must follow Dearborn Public Schools Acceptable Use policy and guidelines. The family borrowing the Chromebook agrees to understand that they are responsible for any damage to the Chromebook. The Chromebooks on loan are for current DuVall students only.  :

Parents will drive up to the bus lane on Francis Street near the preschool door (door 4) on Monday, April 27th.  Parent/ Guardians must have a Driver’s ID.  A DuVall staff member will bring the parent our Chromebook Loan agreement to the car along with the Chromebook, have the parent sign it, and then collect the signed agreements as a record of our Chromebooks that have been distributed.  Please follow the schedule of distribution for classes below so that we can have an orderly distribution of the Chromebooks on loan – there is a limit of one Chromebook on loan per family.

9:00 – 9:15 Ms. Shapas

9:15 – 9:30 Mrs. Ross

9:30 – 9:45  Mrs. Grahl

9:45 – 10:00 Mrs. Alabakoff

10:00 – 10:15 Ms. Sims

10:15 – 10:30 Mrs. Burke

11:00 – 11:15  Mrs. Moon

11:15 – 11:30 Mrs. Ranka

11:30 – 11:45 Mrs. Courtright

11:45 – 12:00 Last call if you missed your time spot (must have completed the survey)

Thank you for following the above guidelines and schedule for distribution to make this process possible as well as for the DuVall staff who will be assisting during processing and distribution days.

Great turnout for Google Meeting:)

Hey Kiddo Diddos,

Wow—a wonderful turnout for our First Google Meeting. Everyone looked so happy and I loved hearing about things you’re doing and making since the last time we met. Your poems were creative and I could tell how proud you were to share them. Hoping to hear more on Thursday. Keep working on your schoolwork—I’m so impressed with all that you are completing. I forgot to send a group hug—-so here it is-HUGGGGGGGGGGG! Until Thursday—be happy, safe and wonderful!!!!!

Mr. Neff sent the DuVall teachers this link for some exceptional videos of a few of our National Parks for National Parks Week. I would like to encourage you to watch a few or all of them. I did—Amazing!!!!!

Busy Bee Calendar

April 20th-April 24th

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cJrmt5YZIZIbm_Yok_Cl8WXPoiIfGGL_KYK-0X3fVag/edit?usp=sharing

Wasn’t the weekend sunshine wonderful? Sure helps lift the spirits!!! Well here we go into another week of our remote learning.

Above is this week’s calendar for Hive 108. I hope you find it easy to follow. Miss Cibasek was a HUGE help with constructing it. If there are any kinks, I take full responsibility. I am on a learning curve, too, with remote teaching/learning.

There is a great deal of information on the calendar, so please take some time to look it over and if you have any questions, ask!

A few of my infamous tidbits:

For grading, I will continue to monitor : READWORKS, ZEARN, RAZ KIDS, EPIC and WRITING ASSIGNMENTS. There will be individual assignments that I may ask for a picture or a google doc.

Math: Application problem (a new addition): complete paper and pencil—take a pic of one and send to me, but I hope your children will complete one each day.

Writing: At least 2 poems—Please send a pic

Social Studies: Complete assignment on a google doc or send a pic

Scholastic News: Beach of Glass link is near the bottom of the calendar

I will be setting up a google hangout or meet for tomorrow at 11:00. Very excited to see those smiling faces and hear about their weekend. Hoping to see all 25!!!!

Please have your children’s devices muted and everyone should have some paper and pencil or white off board/marker within reach. Thanks!!!!

Again, I commend each and everyone of you. Stay positive and please give your children a hug from me—-sooooo missed!!!!!

Love,

Mrs. Burke
