Hello Parents!
Please give yourselves a pat on the back for assisting your children through a very uncharted week of remote learning. We all made it and will continue with success. Many of your children have shown me that they are completing work at home, Zearn, Raz Kids, Readworks, reports sent and others. Great job!!!! If you are having difficulty with locating my calendar, it was posted on March 17th (Our Hive Plans). Be sure to scroll down until you see Week 1 (if needed) and Week 2. I have not completed Week 3 as of tonight. Also, you may want to reference March 13th-Online Learning for additional site information.
Hive Plans : (you may still need to refer to March 17th posts for more details)
Reading: Readworks Insect/plants ( read and answer questions), spend additional reading time choosing from Raz Kids or Epic and then they should be reading a book of their choice for at least 20 minutes.
Math: Complete a page a day in their math homework book. Another 20 minutes should be spent on Zearn, Module 6. Also, practicing addition and subtractions (3 digit number, especially with the “tricky” zero) problems 3 of each and or on Zearn Module 5. Also, number families—flashcards. Keep improving every day.
Writing: Continue with the research paper. Please view the videos that I posted on calendar for Week one or they can be found on the Epic site under writing. Short and helpful. If your child has turned in their report to me, they can write in their journal.
Science: Mysteryscience. com
Social Studies: Public Issues/ I sent a blog out about making a sign to thank our community workers for all the time and efforts they are putting forth during this terrible time. Please send me a picture, I will try to post them with your permission.:)
Spelling: Homophones (words that sound the same, but are spelled differently and have different meanings): wear, where, through, threw, write, right, whole, whole, board, bored. Bonus words: there, their, they’re and the silly sentence is: The children were bored as they went through right door, wearing blue. Additional practice ideas are on the calendar. Check the calendar for a link to one of my favorite books Cook-a -Doodle-Do.
Lalilo and Spelling City are not being used at this time. I apologize for the confusion.
Please don’t hesitate to ask, if you have any questions.
Again, thank you for all the support and you’re doing a remarkable job!!!
Staying positive!
Fondly,
Mrs. Burke
