Hello Parents!
Hello March—March is Reading Month. Your child should have brought home a green “packet” with various reading activities for home and at school. As a kick off, students are asked to dress as a Dr. Seuss character or in the infamous red, white and black–Cat in the Hat colors.
Book Fair: All week 🙂
Thursday, March 5th: Literacy Night 5:00-6:00
Friday, March 13th: Half day of school
Also, if you have any empty shoe boxes, please have your children bring them in for an “engineering” project. Many thanks!
I would like to thank all our parent chaperones that attended our bowling field trip. The children had a blast—many unique techniques of bowling all those spares and strikes. Couldn’t have had such a successful trip without you!!!! Super thanks!!!!!
Our Hive Plans:
Spelling: (schwa “a” pattern) Our words are: again, agree, above, comma, ago, alike, balloon, away, idea and alone. Our bonus words are: banana, along and about. Our silly sentence: Long ago, the banana agreed with the balloon that they weren’t alike.
Reading: Locating details in non-fiction to support author’s specific point
Writing: We will work on our story boards then onto first drafts for personal narratives.
Math: Subtraction with 3 digit numbers (regrouping/trading). Our delayed math assessment, will be on Wednesday or Thursday—watch your child’s planner.
Social Studies: Continuation with Economics
Here’s to a wonderful week!
Fondly,
Mrs. Burke
