Hello Parents!
We have definitely felt a change in temperatures, so please be sure your little ones are dressed appropriately. We do go out for recess in the morning and afternoon.
The hive plans for this week:
Spelling: (beginning blends: sl, sk, sp, st) Our words are: skin, skip, slope, slip, slug, spell, spin, step, stone, and stand. Bonus words: skate, staple, student. The sentence is: The silly student wanted to spin, skip, and step down the slope.
Reading: Continuation with the elements of fiction—using graphic organizers. Then onto non-fiction and working with various text features and how they help with comprehension of the topic.
Writing: Working on an opinion piece—comparing two different types of candy. Brainstorming and first drafts this week. Being sure to include reasons for our choice.
Math: We will have a review today and most likely a test on Tuesday or Wednesday. Watch your child’s planner. Practice tape diagrams at home.
Social Studies: Your child’s test will come home this week.
Science: Properties of Matter
