Hello Parents!
This past weekend sure had the feel of summer as the high temperatures teased us!!! I hope everyone was able to enjoy the hot sunny days. For me, there’s nothing better for one’s disposition than the sun shining down on us.
Can you believe we are in our last week of May? One more short week and then it’s June. Again, I would like to compliment you on all that you are doing for your children. Keep up the over the top job of you’re sharing and working with your children.
Our short week’s plans:
Spelling: 12 months of the year, no Bonus words or sentence.
Reading: 2 Readworks articles, Epic, Raz Kids and or student choice
Writing: A descriptive piece of writing. Please have your child put some their creative ideas into the following writing prompt: If you could choose ANYWHERE to go right now, where would you go and with whom? Try to give at least 3 reason why this destination was chosen.
Math: Shapes and introduction to fractions
Social Studies: A family “road trip” (optional) to drive past the following Dearborn Historical sites: McFadden- Ross House, 915 Brady, Gardner House, Brady (directly behind McFadden- Ross house), and Commandant’s Quarters, 21950 Michigan Ave. Can your child tell one important fact about each site? Again, this is strictly optional, but your children may be interested in seeing a few of the buildings we discussed .
Science: Eyes to the night skies
Here’s to another another short week.
Stay safe!!!!
Fondly,
Mrs. Burke
