I hope everyone was able to have some down time and are ready to continue with our online learning. 🙂 Ready? Here we go!
Following the state’s guidelines for screen time (K-2), the limitation is no more than 1- 1 1/2 hours per day of screen time for school purposes. The following sites are the ones I will be monitoring:

Your children should be very familiar with the above sites. If for any reason they are having any problems logging on, please let me know. Refer to my March 13th, 14th and 17th blogs for class codes and or student password information.
I am adding a new site, Vocabulary/Spelling City to sites I’ll monitor.
Spelling City https://www.spellingcity.com/Log-yourself-in.html
Your child’s username will be their first name, last initial followed by 108. (ex: SarahB108) and their password is their bookbox number (1-25) There are two exceptions: DavidLe108 and JennaHa108.

If you have a library card I highly recommend you check out Dearborn Public Libraries for a number of wonderful sites. The children can “borrow” new books and they also have movies (including the latest ones that aren’t streaming/on cable yet).

To become familiar with Spelling City, please complete the 4 activities (Sound Counter, HangMouse, Word Unscramble and Word Search) that I assigned in Spelling City (Monday-Thursday). A spelling test on Friday on google docs or paper and pencil.

Read 20 minutes using Epic, Raz Kids or one of your books at home.
Writing: Poetry April is Poetry Month, so let’s begin the month with an acrostic poem using a spring or a spring related word. Here is a quick example for the word ROBIN:
Red Breast
Outside critter
Beak
Insect eater
Nest builder
Neatly print one and illustrate. Share it with someone in your family. Your child can write this in their journal or begin a poetry book. They’ll be asked to write a few different types of poems later in the week.

Math: Continue with Module 6–Lessons 19 and 20. Then it’s onto Module 7 Problem solving with Length, Money and Data–Lessons 1-3. Unfortunately, we don’t have that homework book, so your children will have to use Zearn solely for now.
